As a Mexican this makes me smile. Be proud of who you are as well as your ancestors. Being black is nothing to be ashamed of. Black is beautiful.

That’s because Mexico is Are the Indians from the tribe of Israel (Issachar) the original complexion is of the dark culture. Genesis 49 vs 14,15.

Near the so-called Cerro Congo, in the municipality of Actopan, in the state of Veracruz, is Coyolillo, a congregation of the "Afro-Mexican race", as they call themselves. Founded in the seventeenth century, it is located about 40 kilometers from Xalapa, the capital. Its first inhabitants were slaves who obtained their freedom and who worked in a mill called Nuestra Señora del Rosario, on the Almolonga farm. Its carnival is unique in the entire state. They dance with wooden masks representing animals, wearing capes, multi-colored headdresses and rustic bells. The original dances are known to be long gone, but the "disguised" ones resemble a party called Gule Guamkulu from Mozambique, Mali, and Zambia. Greetings from Minatitlán, Veracruz.

That’s the thing, most of them don’t want to be accepted by you or me. They want the acceptance from the yt man. Just like American and African blacks.

Thank you... I too am from a community with African roots in Mexico. Except we are so well blended. Most people don’t know of African descendants in Zihuatanejo. Hyphens are a US thing. We use Negro/a or Moreno/a as terms of endearment (in my extended family).

Incredibly unique and unsullied with commercialism. Wow. My first thought was I wanted to experience this culture but then I realized that I would be part of the problem that is erasing that which makes our world wonderful. Thanks so much for finding and sharing this Atlas! I’ve been following you guys for years and it’s just the best content always.

What do you mean by experiencing this culture and how would that be part of the problem?

Reg Fife I’d like to visit but I’d be a tourist. Commercialism in my opinion changes cultures, especially one so isolated, in negative ways.
@Mentocthemindtaker
@Mentocthemindtaker 4 жыл бұрын
I think _some_ commercialism is fine, as long as it is initiated and controlled by the people who are part of the culture, and it is respectful of that culture. As long as we live in a capitalist society anyway. For some cultures, that form of self-directed marketing and commercialism is the lifeline that allows the culture to survive.

These are descendants of Hebrew/Shemetic peoples of the diaspora, and they wear their heritage with dignity and class. Congo and most of southwestern Sudan (So-udan, or Land of Yahudah) was and is the land of the exiled and dispersed of the ancient so called Israelites (Yah'sharalim). Perhaps the next step in the wonderful revitalization of your culture is to search out your Hebrew roots! Shalom
