Well, my 40×40 is 3.65 acres that my husband found 6 years ago. Had a house that I have always wanted built. After moving in, 6 weeks later, my husband passed away. I was able to pay off the house when I sold our house that we moved from and his life insurance. He knew I would be ok. I am now 71 and love where I live. You're never too old to find your 40×40! I am blessed.

Similar story here. my 40 x40 is a5 acre lot that my husband and I got 5 years ago. He passed before the house was finished. But, I have an amazing church that came in and finished it for me. God is so good to me. I"m 61 and live totally off grid. I have an amazing LGD that keeps this place coyote free.

Hey Chad! I've watched for years and love your channel(s). About the trees: 1. The buckets need drainage holes. 2. Bottom watering is good, don't let plant stand in water 24/7. If the top layers of soil dry out, water from the top as well. 3. Most/all of the trees will need some kind of support due to your winds even before planting. Tie a strap between 2 existing trees and stand the new trees near the strap. Lash the trees to the strap with a cloth wrap. 4. Support the trees after planting until the roots have been established, 6 months - year. Thanks for all of the entertainment you have provided me!

Hey Chad, so sorry about the chickens. Do you have any friends or family who bow hunt? I’m a prolific outdoor writer/hunter. A nice set of night optics/scope on a crossbow while up in a tree all night is a great way to exterminate Yotes. We have taken many that way to help local farmers. God Bless and keep these videos coming.

Lived in Maine and experienced an abundance of white pine gown in rows or next to each other . My suggestion is grow them independent of each other and be ready to trim as they go wide not so tall but they do grow tall, they are prone to spread wildly! Just my two sense and you asked for suggestions, this is an informed one. Love you guys!

Just a little FYI about your Queen Palm. We have had them here in Arizona, and one thing we learned is they are susceptible to high winds. We were advised to set ours closer to our block walls (aka, Az fencing), or near a solid structure. Otherwise they can be damaged. With our monsoons and dust storms, we lost 3 the first year. Once they’re established a few years, they are stronger. Maybe closer to your patio will help. Just coming from experience. You do you. lol.😅

Hosta only grow up to about 12”-18” tall. They come in beautiful shades of green & blue/green & grow from tubers like tulips. The plants will spread large enough that you will need to dig them up & split the tubers every few years. They do prefer shade. We had them all around our backyard in Atlanta, but are not able to have them here in central Florida. Between the heat, the armadillos, the deer & the squirrels, tuber type plants are animal candy. If I can find a picture of our backyard, I will email it to you so that will help with your decision. They are beautiful plants. Shanon

Hostas grow perfect in banks, under/around tree trunks, keep in mind they do multiply for lack of a better word. So they will need to be thinned out frequently. They are great for shaded areas. Also, remember that with your pines, they are acidic, so grass generally is hard to grow in acidic soil. I am not aware of grass seed that good for acidic soils.
@tamiw19037 ай бұрын
Evergreens need higher acid soil... and FYI... the blue spruce will be like playing with sewing needles if you intend to decorate them for Christmas ... Hostas need shade....

We have trouble with Coyotes and have been told by a game warden, if we can take them, take them, but we have to be so careful because of road frontage. I am scared the coyotes would get Cabella though. They have almost gotten our dog several times in her older years. Our dog thinks everything is her friend unfortunately. Continued prayers for the tornado victims. Please put my good friend on the prayer list she was diagnosed Thursday with stage 4 mestatic breast cancer. She needs a lot prayers first chemo is Tuesday and will have 5 hours of red devil chemo..
