About Me: I moved to Tehachapi 5 years ago after living in San Francisco for 10 years. I was wanting a change from my corporate marketing job in Silicon Valley, so I went out to search for a slower paced life. I love to go hiking and camping with my dog on the weekends, but I also like to go down to LA a couple of times a month to visit museums and enjoy nice restaurants. Tehachapi is the perfect location for road trips all over this amazing state, and I am lucky I found my dream home here! (Bachelor of Arts Social Science from SJSU, Go Spartans!)
About Tehachapi: The Greater Tehachapi Area is a mountain community at the southern part of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The elevation ranges from 4000 ft - 7000 ft for most homes here. We have lots of hiking trails, wineries, and a quaint downtown to walk around. Tehachapi is known to have 4 seasons. It usually doesn’t get as hot as the rest of Southern CA, and the snow usually doesn’t last more than a day or two. Some of the amazing wildlife here are California Condors, Elk, Deer, Hawks, Bobcats, and a lot more! Tehachapi has a variety of homes and landscapes, so you can find a mountain cabin, a farmhouse ranch, or a desert oasis to call home.

Hi Courtney! We've been keeping an eye on the market up in that area, and been watching this house, so it's great to see you do a video on this one. We bet this house will sell quick due to the views, cabin like feeling, and COMPLETE privacy. BTW... Have you ever done a video on the property on 28521 Deertrail Drive? We have been watching this house and been sitting on the market for a while and not sure why? Love your channel and eventually when we are ready to move out of LA and up to that area, we will be giving you a call!

Regarding 28521 Deertrail, I haven't and probably won't do a video on this property, but I have shown it before. This property is quite a 'hike', so while it does look great on pictures, the drive to it is probably the biggest reason why it hasn't sold yet. It is about a 40 minute drive to town (Tehachapi) and a 20 minute mountain drive to most amenities in Bear Valley Springs. Keep me posted if you have any additional questions.

@@courtneychalupahomes Thank you so much for your response Courtney about the Deertrail house! We were thinking originally it's sitting on the market for a while due to being purchased a year ago for $200K and now they want $300K. We wonder if they put in $100K worth of work or just trying to do a quick flip. But it definitely makes sense if someone had to drive 20 minutes one way to the valley floor. My grandparents were original home owners up in Bear Valley Springs in 1980 until early 2000's when they sold their place on Skyline Drive. Always wanted to live up there again full time and have enjoyed watching your videos and seeing the properties and surrounding areas. The only thing that sucks at BV is the HOA's going up yearly. You know how that goes.

Love this house 😅 i currently live in central California but there are many many times i wish i lived somewhere a little less city life. Looks peaceful i love the roofline and the potential for reseller business exterior buildings gives me pause 😅. I just dont love bugs and critters. 😂

Wood burning stoves are very common here as they are great backup or main heat sources in areas that get cold.

Does it snow in tehachipi mountains every year? Currently i am looking for a land in tehachapi and i love the snow.

It does snow, but it can vary depending on the community that you live in. Most areas here will get a few good storms each year with some snow that will stick around for a couple of days. Winter is off to a late start this year, but I’m confident we will have some snow storms Jan - Mar of 2024.
