Hi Taylor. Thank you for this video. I to suffer with S.A.D. Always have. Sorry to get out as much as I can especially in sunnier data but it's sometimes not possible. December and January seen to be worse but I always know it's coming! I get really lethargic and tired and can't be bothered. So I go back to charming and funny stories. Ones that don't require so much brain power but full me with joy, usually childhood favourites. So The Worst Witch series by Jill Murphy, The Paddington books and Olga da Polga by Michael Bond, The Narnia chronicles by C S Lewis, which I'm reading now from the begining. I just don't have the gumption this time of year to bother with new or complicated storylines so my childhood books come to visit for a while!

Great list! I really need to prioritize Strange the Dreamer next year as I've had it on my shelf far too long. I love Laini Taylor's writing.

I'm a seasonal moodreader...after this year my Christmas-mood is "enjoy my reading time", so I skipped all the snowy/wintery books and went for the original Hannibal trilogy (again, I loved them for a long time, I want to read the 4th book too, I just didn't get to it yet), Psycho and currently reading The rats...😂 I don't think this sounds too comforting but I enjoy myself and it helps my mind to rest a little - because I'm reading things I like. 😁 (I have several anxiety "based" problems/disorders and due to the current situation I can't see the doctor - we have restrictions and I'm scared for the life of my elderly, sick relatives, who need our constant help, so we can't just not go there...I may struggle with literally everything else, but at least I can read whatever I want! ☺️)

All these books sound good. I want to check out The Martian; I've never seen the movie. Great video!! Thanks! 😊

Wonderful suggestions, Taylor - so many books I've read and loved, and you're making me curious therefore about the ones I haven't read. Have you ever read Connie Willis or Ellis Peters? They're pretty solid go-to comfort read authors for me whose work resembles some of the books you're recommending here. :-)

2020 was the year of The Virus, and isolation during the holidays can be depressing enough and add the long dark hours and gloomy days with no sun and it's worse for many.

I'm taking a little break from reading horror at the moment, I feel like I need something more lighthearted, so my friend recommended me to read a series of books and the first one is Rivers Of London by Ben Aaronovitch, and I'm really enjoying it so far. Have you read any of his books?

I don't like sex scenes in books, so i don't read romance.
