Thank you for this video!! I made my whole family GIANT stockings I did 40 stitch rounds instead of 28 with chunkier yarn and they're literally the size of my 3 month old twins. I'm going to put them inside the stockings for pictures this year and they will last forever! I did all different color patterns for everyone and we get so many compliments! Thanks for explaining this so well, it's so easy to follow :) Merry Christmas!

This video helped me understand the written instructions *so much better* - I was sure I couldn't do the heel, but after watching you show visually how to do it, I see it's actually quite easy. Thank you!

OMG, you are the first person I've seen that makes a slip knot the same way I do.. And, we hold our yarn an crochet the same way. I was looking forward to trying my first stocking, got discouraged cause I couldn't find one I liked, Until, I found this video.. I'm so excited to make this. I have 2 wips I need to finish first but I'm now encouraged to get them done quick 😊👍 Thanks for sharing this video, I'm now a subscriber 😍 Tammy in tiny RI 😎

i love that you count for us during this tutorial! i've been crocheting for years but have never had the confidence to try a stocking, but after your video i'm going to give it a try! thanks. just one question, if i wanted to make this better i just have to increase stitch count in the round by 2's??
@carlajoubert94804 жыл бұрын
I'm working with a chunkier yarn and I also wanted it bigger, so her system is 28 on the main, 14 on the heel (half), then decreases - I am doing 32 on the main, 16 on the heel, two more two rows for a consistent decrease - so far things are working out just fine.

Just was looking for a fast cute stocking for my decor this year. Im super happy to have found your tutorial! This is an amazing one. Very informative! The only thing id like to ask is if you can make it a bit larger and longer? Like if i add more in the cuff and the stockin part will it mess up the look of it? Its Beautiful id just like it a little bigger! Just was wondering! Tfs a great tutorial! New sub here. Hugs Debbie.

Cheryl Anne I made the ribbed cuff with all half double crochets working in the back loops. I crocheted 32 single crochets along the cuff. I had 13 rows of the single/half double crochets, made the heel as in tutorial and crochet 9 rows of single/half double crochets, then sc2tog twice evenly per row till I was at 17 total stitches and sewed toe closed. It was still pretty small.
@cynthialoowho6 жыл бұрын
Cheryl Anne My cuff had a total of 22 rows!

@haileyhurley48856 жыл бұрын
Whatever sized hook your yarn calls for. I used a 6.5mm with worsted weight (4 ply) yarn for a lacier look that wasn't so tight and it worked out fine (and a little bigger than my 4mm hook)

Not easy to follow. Had to keep going back and rewatch 3 or 4 times. The camera is too far away. Where is the written pattern that you keep referring to? Still not sure what happened after 23 mins. Did you work in rounds to get the foot part or chain one and turn?
@myfantacie4u7 жыл бұрын
I agree. Hard to follow and turns out too small. Not a usable stocking for putting stuff in

DO! NOT! CHAIN! 2! &! SKIP! A! STITCH! AT! THE! BEGINNING! OF! EVERY! ROW/ROUND! WHEN! WORKING! WITH! HDC!!!! Trust me! Instead, only chain ONE (1) and work a hdc in the same beginning stitch of every row/round. That way you won’t have an unseemly gap or hole in every single row/round ☺️ You’re welcome. Also…. Why even do the slip stitches when working up the cuff??? It literally looks no different then when you DON’T use them. Omit the slip stitches all together when working the cuff and instead just simply do rows of back loop hdc. It’s easier and works up a lot faster too.
