I loved this tutorial. Clear, concise, and easy to follow for an intermediate skill level. I saved some time and some yarn by making smaller bean stitches (drawing up 4 loops on hook instead of 6) and it still turned out lovely. Thank you!

I am almost done with this project. Thank you for teaching me!! First time doing bean stitch, decreases, increases, about to do rib for the first time…. Needless to say it has been an education and pleasure. Besides blankets and granny squares this is my first real project. Lots of pausing and I appreciate the pattern being listed on the screen. This way I can pause, refer back and then proceed w the next step. Way less overwhelming that way! I did opt to continue my decreases down to close the toe vs weaving it. And went w a solid red color as well besides the ribbed top which will be a off white for a classic look. I learned this stitch, the bean stitch is a bit of a yarn eater but that is okay because I have a huge skein. I will be making stockings for my whole family using this pattern! I may do linen stitch and others for the rest making each one different to use less yarn. THANK YOU! ❤. Also will tag on IG when done!

Honestly get those plastic safety clips. I had the same problem. I put one in my first stitch and count 10. Then put one on every 10th stitch and then one on my last one. I do a row and as I reach a pin I just move it onto the new one. Then count back and make sure I have 10 between them. Takes a whole lot longer but now I know I can’t mess it up. Helps so much.
