...oh yes, for me, it's the slow down time...sleepier times, some weekend sleep overs, snuggling into a soft comfy bed, for a long night...a time for me, to take off...usually move, if it's moving year...settling, is good too, it clears the drama mind, I am 61, and ready, again, to embrace the woods and just Live...🌬🕊💞🍲🌮🥑🌎...planning for winter is important in some countries- in others, the blessings are year round - but I say from experience, in cold places, like Canada, it grows SO MUCH, in the 3 summer months, outside, that it's enough for a year when used, planted, correctly 🌬🕊💞🍉🥑🌮🌎

Isabel, I think your sewing has improved. I think that it also has to do with the fabrics you’re using. Simple fabrics are fine, but they can also be more challenging to use. Choosing the right fabric is also part of learning how to sew. I think you could level up even more quickly by taking a few lessons or watching some KZbin videos or reading about how to sew specific items. You’ve accomplished so much on your own. Don’t give up! BTW the pink top is adorable. 🌸🌸🌸 PS If you’re into finding unusual or vintage fabrics of good quality at a great price, look for places that sell “dead bolts”, ie discontinued fabrics. Some of these are decades old and very cool.

Love the top!!! I teach and grow about all things natural dye. In Port Townsend next month there is a wonderful event called International Fungi and Fiber Symposium. It's all about making art and textiles from materials dyed with foraged mushrooms and lichen. It will be a week of fun outdoors and in. I'll be teaching all about handspinning and yarn! You can get lovely bright pinks from soaking a certain type of lichen in a soap free ammonia. Ive dyed with elderberry too, but mainly use them for tincture since the color isn't color fast(Its fades away). You will get to dye that top many times! I live in Oregon and love watching your adventures and creations!

There appears to be hardly any leafy trees there. Pine Sol all the way lol! Where I grew up it was also mostly pine and spruce near the sea and inland around lakes. Climbed a lot of those trees, and still can do, ha! Ever try spruce gum in the winter? If you'd inhale cold air, that gum would immediately crystalize in your mouth, which makes it like sand until you dare chew it back to warm gum again. Good times.

And when I lived in Las Vegas and I left the mountains I had no idea how comforted I had become to being surrounded by mountains. After having lived on and near rivers or The great lakes. Your mountains are beautiful. The water is beautiful. You people are young. We're coming into some hard times. The next 3 to 10 years or do. Living as you do. Get well. Who cares if you leave your property. I admire you both, greatly. Great that forage, garden and take care of yourself as much as possible. You are doing well. Happy for you. Love how you are living.
