The simple wild series is one of my favorites! It’s just so cozy and cute and I love the characters we meet throughout the books. I personally loved the other books in the series because you get to see Calla and Jonah work through their relationship and the struggles they face when they love each other so much but live such different lives. Also the last book in the series follows a completely different couple. I wasn’t sure id like it because the main girl is in the first two books and is not the most likable but the author really made me understand her and fall for her in the end

I read The Simple Wild some time ago and really liked it. I thought the author did a good job of putting us in Alaska and representing that world. I also liked how the ending was not tied up with a bow. In fact, I cried towards the end of the book and I wondered if you would also shed a tear. Right now, I'm in the middle of reading Under Your Spell by Laura Wood. I think this is the author's first contemporary adult novel. It's a rock star romance set in the U.K. (Previous to this, the author has written children's and young adult books. I read one of her young adult stories - A Sky Painted Gold - and felt it was a little more grown up than I expected. It was set in the 1920s-30s in England and had a Great Gatsby vibe to it. I really liked it and the cover, along with the books in the same series are beautiful. I believe the reason it's considered more young adult is because the heroine is around 17-18 years old and there's no explicit sexual situations. Still, it was very good.) I'm enjoying this adult book as well, but I'm waiting to see how it wraps up before I give my final opinion. Just recently, I read The Second Chance Year by Melissa Wiesner and really liked that. It's a bit of paranormal, time travel about a woman who gets to relive a disastrous year and try to make it come out better.

I am in this Facebook book club and we always have two book discussions each month plus other activities. The two books for October are The Unmaking of June Farrow and Like Mother Like Daughter. I thought that was so funny that those were the first two books you read. I have a copy of The Unmaking of June Farrow but don't know if I will be able to get Like Mother Like Daughter in time. I am so glad you both liked your books.
