This was such a fun video to watch. As a 40 something year old viewer of your channel, I got excited when you mentioned Eric Jerome Dickey. I enjoyed every single one of his books. He was my favorite author during that time period. An author that I would make every effort to see in person when he would come to my hometown. It broke my heart when he passed away. Another author whose work I loved during that same time and still today is Kimberla Lawson Roby, her Curtis Black series will have you on the end of your seat.

@@ShawnaciSchroeder when it's multiple people speaking it's hard to sympathize or hate a person without knowing how they speak. This is how I experienced the book, through audio version. This is how I read A Dowry of Blood, she had a thick accent and it was amazing! Julia Whelan which we all know and love narrates a lot of good books. If I like a narrator, I tend to like the books they narrate. And I tend to read more out-of-my-genre books, if I like the narrator

Now that I am beginning to understand troupes. My favorite troupe is friends to lovers as well. I don’t think I really like faking dating troupes. It seems like there are so many books that are the same with this troupe that are just alike. If that makes sense. Also, I don’t like children talking in a book neither.
