I laughed out loud when you admitted that you didn't want to break a sweater quantity to knit a hat! I completely agree and have also refused to break a larger quantity for a smaller project....just in case of yarn chicken. I also have used the exact Patons Kroy for fingerless mitts and hat which my father in law loves because he doesn't have to be precious with them while feeding his chickens. When knitting for someone , we now need to decide if they are knitworthy AND yarn worthy! 🤣🤣🤣 I am just finishing a pair of Nancy Wheelers socks for a Christmas gift

What a nice visit. I love looking at your wips and finished objects, as well as your dream knits. I only knit socks, but I’m new at it, and I learn something new to try or even think about trying when you discuss your socks or needles or yarns. If you’re not back before the holidays, I hope your holidays are peaceful and sweet.

I'm here for any time of the day version of Sophie, but oh my gosh night time Sophie cracks me up! We should get over-caffeinated Leanne and past sundown Sophie together and see what kind of shenanigans unfold! LMAO. I'm thinking PEI FF 2025 would be a good time to test this formula. Anyways, have a wonderful weekend with your daughter at the Volleyball tournament. I hope you get a long and leisurely visit at Fleece & Harmony and not have a time-limit like last time you where in the area. P.S. I love Kroy Sock! And guaranteed your husband will bond with that hat. Until very recently, my hubby's favourite toque was legit SuperSaver acrylic. Seriously?! Yep. But now he has come around and his favourite toque of all time is his Musselburgh in ArcaneFibers because it's 'camo' coloured.

Sophie, you are always a joy. I have recently joined you on the Musselburgh Hat and loved making it. You always have incredible projects and beautiful colors. I just finished making my husband a pair of socks from Kroy sock yarn and the yarn tortured my fingers but my husband wears through the beautiful sock yarns and couldn’t care less about them but he loves his knitted socks and the brighter the better. It never hurts to test the waters before knitting the good stuff. I did it backwards and am now repairing socks all the time. You are cracking me up. You need to enjoy your podcasts as much as we enjoy watching them. My husband is not interested in a double layer hat. He overheats in older age more than I ever have. Your decorating is beautiful, as always.

Gauge- a knitter’s nemesis😂 I’ve done it all- too small, too big etc etc. Blocking on the needles was a good idea. I was going to suggest binding off more stitches under the arm to add width but I see that this wouldn’t work for this design. Making a wider button band will also add width. We can all sympathize with your panic😂 ETA: The Kroy is an excellent choice for a man’s hat. Musselburgh hats are addictive.

I have my first Musselburgh on the needles now. So I am also late to the party. It is my travel project so it is not growing quickly. We have a new baby in our family and I knit a little coffee bean sweater for her. It is too large, so now I am knitting an Anker sweater for her. I hope the first sweater will fit by the end of the winter. That pressed flowers cardigan made me say, hmmmmm. I have one cardigan (Rebel) a i want another cardigan. I have been considering something with cables. Our coastal NC winters are mild and cardigans are a good choice. Heavy Aran weight sweaters are appropriate only for the coldest of our winter days which are few.
