I would put tons of big plants and fairy lights everywhere, and diy-ed cement lamps of some sort, my paintings and drawings on a gallery wall, and I would stretch black fabric across the entire ceiling on which I would paint a starry night sky:) I would also diy a rustic wood headboard, some cool pillows, and possibly make a baby-pink mesh canopy for the bed!

Art should be hung more at eye level, so I think if they put them way up there, it would be an awkward balance, despite wanting to draw the eye up. I think a good solution would have maybe to do 5 pieces around the mirror. In any case, I think they're pretty good at laying out a room actually! They're naturals at keeping design principles in mind whenever they do anything.

i think the mirror should have gone on the make up shelf. the big desk isn't a friggin vanity table, its like, a work space. she's gonna end up moving it. and like the " i dont need instpiration i need coffee" piece honestly could have gone above the full body mirror and would still look fine. the paintings,,, as cute as it was, having crinkled pieces of artwork hung on the wall isn't so cute. should have either framed it or done a differnt type of painting on canvas or something. idk maybe thats just me

The corkboard definitely would've looked cuter with a lighter fabric and wooden or rose gold pins! or just a different shade of pink maybe. Otherwise everything was super cute, and you've given me a great idea for some wall art with those watercolour paintings :D

The batting was also soooo thin, i love tufted things so I was excited and like 0 volume. It would’ve required like 10 more seconds to add more and poke holes in it so it’s not too thick for push pins that drove me crazy

The only thing that makes me a little uncomfortable is the mirror on the desk. Sure, it looks like a vanity, but still, I don't know how I would be able to focus while studying if I had a huge reflection in front of me.. plus now there is not a specific designated area for studying and for makeup, it's kind of mashed together.. I think the white mirror should go on top of the dresser so that area is the "getting ready" corner with the floor-lenght mirror and the wardrobe, and have all your supplies for studying on the desk. That separates all the different areas and makes the dorm room look and feel more like a home, rather than having multiple areas for one thing.

This is bittersweet.... this is very close to my actual current dorm room, however, and this is key, you guys keep going into rooms that are HUGE and GORGEOUS and SPACIOUS with relaxed rules and nice existing​ furniture. PLEASE go into a normal cheapo old ugly furniture, tile floors, two people smooshed in a tiny space with little windows and make something out of THAT. Sure, without that room and the existing furniture, there's not much of a challenge and it's not realistic to the rest of the world who goes to a smaller or cheaper university with lower-quality dorms. I would loooooove to see you guyss do a room like mine (It looks similar to this one with the blush pink)

I gotta say this one was kind of disappointing, the space seemed smaller and more cluttered after the renovation than before. They could have focused more on her desk. As a student you want a cozy room but you also want a good study area. Having her desk by the cork board seemed the most practical just to have the extra shelf space and the cork board to add important notes. Also where's the desk lamp or a pencil holder. Some cute basic desk accerories would have been a plus.

Everyone's different id find the natural light better to study by and you can still pin things to the cork board (or add ribbon between the pins and peg notes to read before/after bed).

Love this one! I love how all the changes were temporary so she doesn't have to worry about undoing it all or having to pay damage fees to the college at the end of the year when she moves out. This one was just minor changes that made a big difference, which is so much more realistic for most people! love it.

DEFINITELY AGREE! i think they should've gotten a smaller mirror, right when i saw it i just eh.. and the plant was not in a good spot. i dont think they should've gotten a real plant tbh a fake one next to the study space/desk/corkboard would've been better.. i also dont like the mirror placement (the large one) and the corkboard should've had a lighter pink but it was still cute

That's because it came in the dorm and you aren't allowed to change it, otherwise you'll be charged damage fees at the end of the semester. By doing it just using pins, she can take it all off at the end of the semester and not have to pay anything for changing the room.

Really sweet. I might have covered the top of the desk with removable liner or wallpaper with a marble pattern or the like. That way the desk also has a table/vanity feel.

Everything is pretty but I’m kinda 🤔🤔🤔 about little mirrors as trays. And watercolor painting shouldn’t be in front of the window. Watercolor is sensitive to light.

I am so disappointed with You. This room has so much potential and needed little help. Between bed and desk is so little space. I feel like you made it harder for her to study in here than it was before. This cork board should be above her desk so she has a good use of it instead of making it cute and pink and totally useless. Same thing with that mirror on her desk. It’s her place to work not a beaut room, you could give her a small makeup mirror and put it on commode. I wish you painted that furniture and maybe used some nice contact paper. Same thing with that awful chair, that pink material from board would be better used to cover that seat. Also that art work doesn’t look good covered with both mirrors. But what is the most ridiculous is that plant on desk, ITS A WORK SPACE. Maybe try to do something that actually works instead of only looking good. I am so disappointed as a interior designer I know how to make place easy to live in and looking good at the same time. That is not one of that places...
