It's the most wonderful time of the year with a snow day on a Saturday. It's the perfect day to try some new recipes and enjoy feeding my family in our cozy home.

Thank you, Darlene. Seeing your Cardinal coffee mug, sweet little Linus and precious Hunter made me smile. Those muffins looked awesome. Next time my granddaughters are here, I am going to make the muffins. Carrots for the furboys.

Oh my word, Darlene, am I ever hungry after watching you prepare all this delicious food! Those muffins, though...to die for! They look like they belong in a glass case at the local bakery! And that stew was the quintessential comfort food! The gravy looked so rich! Glad you left your snowman outside on the deck...I enjoy seeing him out there. Thanks for sharing your productive day : )

We ate all our cranberry bliss bars already. Seeing your’s makes me want to make another batch. I don’t think it has to be Christmas, right? Haha They were extremely tasty.

It doesn't have to be Christmas but I only make them that time of the year so they stay special but I love having them in the freezer in January and February.

Oh those Blueberry Muffin’s looked amazing, I totally could eat the entire thing, definitely smothered in real butter, I’d definitely binge eat them, I know my weakness and sweets is one… lol ❤❤❤

Darlene, I love homemaking, too. My kids are all grown and flown and I still work outside of the house. But, I am actually made to be a homemaker, I think. Being a teacher, I get to live that life a little during breaks such as Christmas, Spring, and summer. The doggies look quite happy being warm and toasty inside on such a snowy day! Also, that pizza looked amazing!!

Had to laugh a little when you said the smoke detector was going off. Reminded me when I was a kid talking to my best friend on the phone. The smoke detector would go off and she was like “oh got to go supper is ready”. Made me giggle. Wasn’t that supper was burnt it was just that the detector was close to the oven so when it opened it would go off. Hahaha

So nice to see a fellow Canadian let alone from Ontario! You are doing such a great job with these videos. I came across some of yours from 4 yrs ago and so happy to see you are still making them. Glad you are enjoying the snow as we have also had some over the past few days as well in southern Ontario. So cold here right now. Anyway you are my new favourite ❤

Everything looked SO GOOD!! Did you try the hamburger helper? If so what did you think? do you think you could use the muffin mix in regular sized muffin tins?

The hamburger helper is really good. It has chilli powder in it so it's a nice flavour. Yes, you can use regular muffin tins. It says on the recipe and I'm actually going to make another batch of these and make them in the smaller ones so I'll film it and share. It should be up within a week.

Honestly, I just realized it that day as I was enjoying my day in the kitchen. The house is so lonely during the week with just the dogs and I and I just love Saturdays when the house is busy and all the noises are there and my heart is full and that's when I love to cook and do all those boring household things.

Hi Darlene, l believe your in Ontario if l am not mistaken, next time you make a stew, try to season some flour with garlic, onion, paprika and pepper, and then fry it up. add chopped onions, potatoes, and carrots, but instead of using stock or broth, try Clamato juice, l have been making my stew this way for almost 30 years now, and everyone who tries it, loves the flavour it adds a richness. Just thought l would throw it out there.

Thanks for sharing and we do have a bottle of Clamato in the fridge from Christmas. LOL I'll see what hubby thinks.
