Hi there! I'm just going to comment on the portrait at the end of the video. I'm not a perfect artist, and I too have things I'm trying to improve every day! Sadly, the skin tone did not turn out as dark as I had hoped, but I have learned from my experience and will try again in the future! The best way to learn and improve is to just jump in and try! The watercolor base for the skin tone was a bad idea for my page -- I should have either used something else, or painted on a page that didn't already have a ton of paint on the other side. I didn't want to cut the portrait out of the video, because I wanted to keep it real with you folks - I'm not perfect. My art needs improvement in many areas. That said, I've been striving to paint and honor my brothers and sisters of all races and improve as best I can. I'm very passionate about racial equity, and I like to celebrate that through my artwork when I do happen to draw/paint people. I understand I am not the best at skintones, but that does not reflect my beliefs in any way. I am so terribly sorry if it came off that way! My channel is, and always will be a safe space for EVERYONE. My channel is also a place where you are welcome to correct me if I am wrong. I love you all so incredibly much and want you to feel valued here!! 💜

Just was thinking how courageous you were to put watercolor on that paper😳. Lmao It’s not the best for that medium. Also I love the fact you used soo many different types of mediums for that piece. Super cool, it’s actually my favorite from this video. As for skin tone 😩 when I try to do light tones they end up too dark. We all have our hurdles. 💕Art is a Journey 💕 Happy weekend

Hi Mira! I know I’m REALLY late to this video, but I love to watch these kinds of videos while doing art myself, and I’ve been super busy. I know you probably won’t see this comment, but I relate to you so much. I’m only 13, but I love art so much and it’s one of my favorite hobbies. I feel very much that I am a style hopper as well, I haven’t found what works best for me. I’m not sure I ever will. I’m not that good at realism, my dad always describes my style as “abstract realism.” My colors are really bright and I have a weird cartoony type of realism. I know this is really weird, but I love it! I’m also a perfectionist and struggle with not making a masterpiece😂. You are such an inspiration to me and I love to watch all of your videos and do art with you. If you need break of course that’s fine! but we will always be waiting for you when you come back to see us😊 Ilysm and see you soon!

Love these chit chat videos! Today we totally worked out together Mira! Had to get my stretches and crunches in! As for answering some of your questions, I can totally relate to the one about having a hard time creating art because you want it to be perfect. My best advice for this is to play a scribble game with someone. I do this with my kids all the time. One of us will scribble a few lines on a piece of paper and then it is the other person’s job to figure out what to turn that scribble into. It is good because it takes away the fear of a white page and makes you think outside the box. You can twist the paper in any direction you want till you see what magical creature or fun character or epic scene is waiting to hop out of those lines. One of my favorite creations that came out of this is an iguana lounging in a robe. I’ve never drawn iguanas before and certainly not one lounging but there he was hiding in the lines and I brought him out. Let me know if you ever decide to give this a try. I’d love to see what you create!

I kinda put off watching this video as I enjoy watching your videos and I have been in such a foul mood and I was waiting to watch because I knew that I would not watch you and be unhappy! Yep, sometimes you gotta let your anger out! I have continued to make art in as many styles as I can. Having only one style is death for a freelancer. You have to be flexible with as many different mediums as possible. I know that my watercolor paintings have a certain “look” and I am learning about soft pastels as I have a desire to loosen up and try to create in a more impressionistic manner. I enjoyed watching you create each and every one of the artworks you did in this video. Please take care and be safe and say Hello to Dorv!

I really appreciated what you were saying about style-hopping. I have tried for years to nail down a style to stick to, and genuinely thought that there must have been something wrong with me cause I just can't do it. I go from old-school disney animals, to semi-realistic landscapes, to calligraphy, to fantasy creatures. I try any medium, pencils, acrylics, oils, watercolours, markers, pastels, digital... just can't find my "one thing". It's very reassuring to know that I'm not alone in this, and that it doesn't make me any less of an artist. From now on I'll try to focus less on finding a consistent style, and more on just doing whatever makes me happy at the time. Thank you Mira!

Beyond the physical aspect, i love the beauty, sweetness and fragility of the peach as a symbol as well as a its history in art itself; peach pit sculpture comes to mind. You may have just had the cuteness as your inspriation, but dont you just love that about art? ,that it can be transformed by the individual viewer and take on life beyond the creator's original vision. I do a little bit of everything, while sometimes it can take you longer to get more proficient at one medium when you are constantly changing things up. However, for me I just have to change things up all the time. I am glad I am not the only one that has like 3 or 4 different drinks when they are working lol. I always have my trusty water bottle, then I have my "salty" drink for my health, then I have will sometimes also have coffee/tea, or a seltzer of some sort. I always look really thirsty.

Thank you for doing this. What a joy! Glad you're back. Though I love animals, I understand why you choose not to have pets. They require much time and can be a financial and emotional drain. Plus, it complicates things if you want to travel. Despite that, I couldn't be without a furry creature in my life so I have 5 rescued cats and 2 dogs! Sigh. I also go through different art phases so I totally relate to your desire to try different styles. Love the story about how you and your husband got together. A friendship builds a solid foundation for a successful marriage! I'm an Ohio girl (but now live in Florida). I do have relatives in Columbus and they love it!

I applaud you for rescuing so many fur babies! It sounds like you have a warm heart! 💜 That's cool you live in Florida now. I hope you're enjoying the warm weather. I saw on the news Florida is so nice and warm right now, which makes me a little jealous. Sounds lovely, haha. :)

@@MiraByler I get attached quickly to any animal that crosses my path, lol. Our Florida weather warmed back up to the 80s this week. Honestly, I was truly enjoying the chillier days as it was a nice break from the sweltering heat! Seeing the Ohio snow pics makes me a little homesick :)

Columbus Peeps Present! I'm also 2.5 hours from my teen hometown but came to Cbus for the college opportunities. It's so crazy we live in the same city. I don't like the traffic here. There are so many good restaurants here. I would have to say my favorites are Marcella's, Molly Woo's, M, Hyde Park, and Mitchell's Steak House. I guess I have a thing for Cameron Mitchell restaurants since my siblings and I all worked for them at one point. Love your artwork and merch!

@@MiraByler Aww, that's so awesome you have experienced Marcella's! Every ingredient, including their wines, are all imported from Italy. One of my sister's and I worked for them when they switched from Martini to Marcella's. So I got to learn about every ingredient, every menu item, and a lot of their wines thru an awesome night of taste testing everything. I'm actually in the medical field since 2002. You and I have some things in common. How cool! I'm also left handed. I discovered a giant community of left handed peeps in Cbus since I moved here in 2002 lol. I think it's so awesome to be close by! I can't wait to purchase some of your beautiful merch! I adore every art project of yours, and get amazed at how talented you are in every project I watch you create. They're all beautiful. Only God is perfect. No one human is perfect. I think us fans wouldn't even see or notice any flaws in your process if we hadn't watched your creation process. But, true talent genius like yours takes practice like most things in life. You're amazing! Good luck on the house hunting! Much love from your sub, Leah 🤗💝

Ahh. I am definitely a style hopper, I learned to embrace it recently but I think I am having a relapse and a style crisis. No idea what I am doing with my art and wishing my style was consistent! I still know that I should just accept that I like to hop around but it is so hard sometimes. Especially when I don't see improvement in any of them because I don't stick with the same thing long enough to learn! Loved this video Mira and your weird cat thing haha!

You are definitely a style hopper! That’s something that drew me to your artwork as we were getting to know each other. I love that you also hop around and we can obsess over our phases together, then the next we we both switched! Hahaha! 💜💜
