I head up into the mountains to experience an incredible blizzard, camping in my Fiat Ducato van. This was quite the incredible experience and I was lucky to capture the cozy feeling of the blizzards and snow storm in HDR. I bring my new DJI mini 4 pro drone for the first time. That was in the previous episode. In this episode I make a loop of it and finish this trip that was planned for pre Christmas this year in extreme temperatures for this time of year.
My van is a Fiat Ducato, FWD with Nokian Winter Tires. This is the same as a Ram Promaster in the USA and Canada.

Great vid. Rough. Fancy snow blower on that Volvo truck. Reach out and get it. Going through the pass, not a power line in sight. Not a place to be in winter. All summer homes. Bet it is cold in the valley. The air inversion just pumps the cold air right down on them. Be some great summer motorcycling. Jarl what kind/brand of outer coat do you have? Like those window mats. Hold in quite a bit of heat. Really enjoyed the vid. Glad to see the Arctic tour. A whole different world up that way. Take care, be extra safe.

When I lived in Canada between 1988 and 1990 we had to plug the engine heater into the mains to stop the engine from freezing. Does your van have its engine heater connected to a battery? Such an amazing, inhospitable place.

I do not actually have an engine heater in my van, so I need to take other measures if it get cold

I really like the drone footage at the beginning as you were driving the van. Truly a "Winter Wonderland". 8:17; Nice safe & plowed parking/rest area. I'm assuming the snow covered structure is a bathroom for travelers. If it isn't Burritos, it’s Pizza - comfort foods. And Real Turmat Freeze Dried meals for comfort food when in a tent. Does your Van have a cassette toilet? 17:37; never seen a snow blower like that. 20:26; drone footage while driving is a really improved perspective compared to footage from the vehicle's windshield. 28:36; Thank you for pointing out the old structure used by Nazi to make "Heavy Water". 33:22: Parking area, plowed just for you. I suspect you'll be joined by others later this evening. 34:45; Nice fur collar to your jacket. And I noticed your passenger seat turned toward the rear of the van. 40:09 Ahhhmen - to the most important meal of the day, COFFEE. 1:14:05; a little carbon helps keep the pipes clean. Thanks Bill, yes my van has a cassette toilet, very convenient. They blow the snow of the side of the roads before it gets too much to make future plowing easier. The drone is a lot of fun!

Over here in the US your van would be a Dodge Ram. I know it built by Fiat. Nice and cold. Too cold for me. Checkout Living the van life. Chad has some good filming techniques. I bet you both could learn from each other. Awesome video!

Your insulation panels should have the mirror side facing inwards to reflect heat into the vehicle. You cannot reflect cold. With more accurately-shaped and properly reflective window insulators, you will lose less heat at night. Further, you can dramatically improve heat situation by going over the van with a fine-tooth comb to find and insulate all relevant surfaces.

Whoa the pizza was excellent!!! I could not find the curry mango sauce except on Amazon (even though I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where Heinz was founded), so I made a copycat version. Oh so yummy. The pizza was so good that I’m going to make it for friends on two separate occasions. One will be for a small hygge get together that I’m having. Cheers to you for that!

It's me again, yesterday it was -23 celcius here in Quebec city, Canada. I did camping until mid december with -9 with wind -13 maximum. More than that it was too much. And I tried diferent type of styrofoam 1 inches thick. and air coming fromt the floor but if i had 2 or 3 inches thick will be much better.

Nice adventures in the cold with your van! Is the Nallo GT winter camping a January objective? Out here in the PNW we are at 50% of normal snowpack courtesy of El Niño. Lots of rain on snow events currently.
