I have backpacked in the snow when I was 11 (1968) a friend and I backpacked from East Willows road in Alpine, Ca. all the way up to Green Valley Falls with an overnight stay at a primitive camp site about 8 miles from Green Valley Falls. It started snowing shortly before we made camp and snowed all night, it was very cold and no fires were allowed there plus worst of all we had tube tents LOL Kids ... We survived the night and hiked out to Green Valley Falls early the next morning, there was about 8 inches of snow everywhere hiking out and we get to the ranger station to make a phone call to be picked up and they start bugging us about permits for which we had none oops. It is actually one of my fondest memories from my childhood, two 11 year old boys off on our own for a couple days, these days my parents would probably be arrested for allowing such a thing but for us it was more a test of our manhood if you will.

Dearest Kevin, Sara and Caroline, I found y'all on youtube right after you started your overlanding adventure a few years back and have been hooked ever since. I have watched all of your episodes, many multiple times, and was hooked while you were on the first Alaska trip. That was awesome!!!! I have been building my 2005 Z71 Tahoe for overlanding and it is coming along. After watching your new baby announcement episode I had to subscribe and follow y'all out in the open. Your announcement of your new family member has got a waterfall running down my face with joy!!!!!! Congratulations !!!!!!! I cant wait for the arrival episode!!!! God bless you guys!!!! I feel like you're family I have watched your adventures so many times!!! Keep up the great work. Your videography is beautiful to watch. America is an absolutely beautiful place from top to bottom and side to side. Thank you so very much for sharing it and showing it. If y'all are ever in Texas overlanding please reach out. I would love to share a weekend adventure with you guys. Once again, a very heart felt sincere congratulations on your new baby. Over this past Thanksgiving we found out my eldest daughter and her husband informed us we are about to be grand parents for the first time!!! I AM THROUGH THE ROOF WITH JOY. Love y,all, John S. II

That drone flyover was awesome! For some reason the thoughts that came to me were of our ancestors and the unimaginable hardships that they had to go through crossing through this kind of land during winter. I was just listening to the music almost meditating and envisioning them just trek across the landscape, set up camps, cut trees to survive, hunt to eat....it was a great experience for me, thankyou! Keep up the awesome content!

@LifestyleOverland2 жыл бұрын
59.97fps on most shots. Drone ended up at 50fps 5.7k. But honestly the cold was messing with the camera so much there might be some dropped frames in there. KZbin is notorious for over compression so the Patreon version on Vimeo is a better representation for sure. Glad you enjoyed it!
@TLOverlander2 жыл бұрын
@@LifestyleOverland thanks for the reply... Yeah, KZbin pretty much ruins every one of my shots that show motion, like in-vehicle driving footage. The compression really spoils the look. Beautiful fall leaves turn into blurry, orange and yellow polygons. Lol
