this is actually one of the joys that all of us here in northern parts of the hemisphere feel and understand. End, it doesn’t really matter if you live in a van, a truck or a tiny house, or a mansion, being inside toasty warm, and watching a blizzard is the most peaceful experience in the world.

This is quite normal stuff in Norway, nothing dangerous about driving in a convoy and camping in the mountains, you dont turn around in Norway just because there is a blizzard if the road is open and you have good tyres. You try your best to be able to get a place in the convoy. I dont expect anyone who dont live in a winter country to understand how it works, but I actually had to delete a few comments here because they where mean and hateful, but that happens so the people with the mean comments gets hidden and blocked without them knowing about it😂

what a glorious adventure….. I am Swiss, living in South Carolina USA. Grew up in the Swiss Bernese Alps with long winters, lots of snow, lots of mountain skiing. I miss it here. Your video made me homesick and at the same time, I felt good, sitting in my Living room and enjoying your adventure. One of my favorite things to do is drive up to Moose Island, Eastport, Maine, and rent a cottage right on the Atlantic Ocean when there is going to be an epic storm. A van, cheese pizza's and a snow storm... livin' the dream... That plough passing in the night looks almost satanic lol ! Love the night sky shots at the end... :) P.S- a small tip if I may... Park the front of your van out of the wind- that's a hell of a wind chill for delicate components in the engine bay !
@NorwegianXplorer Жыл бұрын
The van is actually designed to have wind in the front, so I park into the wind
@zaneclone Жыл бұрын
@@NorwegianXplorer Why would you want wind like that into the front of a stationary van ?
@NorwegianXplorer Жыл бұрын
A van is designed to be driven into the wind, so that is the direction I want to be facing.
@zaneclone Жыл бұрын
@@NorwegianXplorer Indeed they are- to cool down a hot engine whilst running/driving. Whilst parked overnight, sub zero and crazy windchill temps' are not optimal for an engine bay - a very harsh environment for all the delicate tech in there.

What a brilliant safety factor that allows a certain amount of vehicles to proceed and keeping each other in sight. You definitely need to be a very special breed of adventerous folks to do this. Did you have to get permission to stay overnight there? When you were talking about the rules of the caravan, one was not to lose sight of the car in front of you so that's why I was wondering about stopping overnight. I have another question if that's ok? How fast were those cars and trucks traveling on those icy roads?! I'm a new subscriber to your channel 🙂
@NorwegianXplorer Жыл бұрын
Thanks, no you dont need permission, as you can see there are plenty of cars already up there and the road is only closed for a few hours or a day until the wind dies down, a few of the scenes where it is really fast is sped up 2x, I should have added a note about that so not to confuse the viewers
