I believe that the CPS-III chip was an amazing piece of technology. Games like Street Fighter 3 and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for The Future that used the chip ran smoothly, had great sound quality, and were able to have give many people the greatest arcade fighting game experience they’ve ever had.

THIS is exactly what I am looking for. I ended up with a CPS3 board and I needed as much help as possible. Thank you for this!

the problem of CPS3 is that there are not many games for the system. The only popular one is SF3, but SF3 itself was not that popular back then when it was release.

Wish capcom used this more . Could you imagine how marvel vs capcom Or capcom vs snk would look ? Even if darkstalkers sequel was made Using cps3 ?

It's a shame the CPS III didn't really catch on because it sure was powerful.

Great stuff as always Jarrod! Question - the CARTRIDGE is the only thing that controls Region correct? The Motherboards / CD Drive and CD's are all identical and multi-region right? I'd like to begin building one but want the text to be in English. (either Third Strike , 2nd Impact or New Gen). Thanks!

I remermber reading up on street figjter Third strike on the requirements to play that game on the cps3 board. I think you needed to or three more simm boards to run the game.

wow I had never heard of this, in truth, I have the nstreet fighter iii new generations disc with some very small stripes and it is in good condition anyway, but without the battery cartridge, since an acquaintance gave it to me. Obviously I had no idea where it came from and I don't know how to sell it, I have no knowledge about it and if someone happened to see this comment I would appreciate it if you could give me a price suggestion or something like that

That the cart slot, volume knob, test switch, flash simm's and scsi connector, you were way off. The CPS3 hardware wasn't popular because it was more temperamental and expensive than it cps2 predecessor, in fact to add more insult to the cps3 Capcom freakin went back to developing on their CPS2 platform with Anniversary being the final game released in early 2000 not only on the CPS2 hardware but the last game released on Capcom hardware
