Except that all of canada is already a "gun free" zone as no one is allowed to possess or transport a loaded gun of any kind in public except those specifically authorized (i.e police, military, armored car personnel). So how about you just stay out of Canada? All these guns used in crime and seized by police aren't coming from legal sources in Canada. They are brought illegally from the USA and sold specifically to people who couldn't get one legally here anyways.

Lax gun laws in the country south of us with ~2 guns per person and lack of cooperation between US + Canadian law enforcement on firearms smuggling. The guns being seized by police and used in crimes here are usually already prohibited sub-compact models specifically designed for concealed carry or models with modifications that make them prohibited (no serial number, high capacity magazines, prohibited caliber etc...)

A SMALL number of people are responsible for a LARGE amount of Criminal Activity, as they are released almost immediately after arrest on Bail, and when they DO get to Trial....if the offence isn't plead down to 'jaywalking', then bleeding heart judges give them non-custodial, or minimal sentences....and they're out....fre...to do the same thing over and over again, until it's murder....then they might actually do SOME time....but not much. Bring back MINIMUM sentences for Gun Crimes, and you know what....if these people are LOCKED AWAY....they aren't committing crimes..
