The cops in pursuit should have waited for other officers to be able to locate the robbers on the highway but driving the right way. How do I know? Because the cops would have charged you for going the wrong way even if you were vulnerable (e.g. road rage driver chasing you). I mean it was an LCBO a robbery. These charges are correct. The police must weigh their actions, the benfits of chasing and catching a robbery suspect, versus the danger to the public writ large. While I understand that the police coul dclaim to be "trying to warn other drives" of the danger of oncoming traffic, the right way to do that is have other officers proceed ahead and close the highway immediately. Deciding to continue a chase on the busiest highway in the country (indeed North America I believe) at high speed in the wrong direction with closing speeds in excess of 250 km/hr is bad decision making.
