Thanks for the informative presentation. I do take issue with your plugs on Balochistan and PoK: my mother is Balti and everyone I know who is from her region does not consider themselves occupied but consider them self Pakistani. I myself live in Canada so I don’t concern myself too emotionally with this issue however it’s important for you to speak the truth when you are giving such an otherwise excellent presentation. The second thing is that, yes you are correct that there are massive human rights violations in Baluchistan, but Pakistan’s territory includes Baluchistan and Pakistan’s governance of same is not illegal! Baluchistan is a legitimate part of Pakistan and that’s a fact. personally , I’m of the opinion that Pakistanis and Indians should’ve learned to live together instead of separating into two countries, as culturally most of the Indian people that I meet here have so much more in common with me then they have different from me. We speak the same language, cook the same food, have similar family structures and so on and so forth. With that, instead of separating we should’ve developed a mutual respect and love for each other’s religions and cultural nuances instead of living in opposition to each other. Nonetheless, Dr Gaurav, I encourage you to be intellectually honest instead of ideological when you speak about such an important topic to such a broad audience. :)

1.Who told you that Pakistan illegally occupied Baochistan? It was decided by the Cheiftans of that time that they wanted to go with Pakistan. 2. CPEC is on the way to destination. Nobody in Balochistan is hindering it, however there are some reservations over the route. Some political leaders want that it should pass through their areas so that they could get benefit out of it. Overall, everything is good.

I'm a Canadian and my father left India/Pakistan before patrician and I don't have a dog in this fight. As a Canadian I can tell you that we have allowed referendums in Quebec twice to see if they want to separate. If the people of Quebec had voted to leave we wouldn't have sent half a million military personnel there to force them to stay. If India is confident that the people of Kashmir want to be part of India why don't they allow a free and fair referendum in the area that is in India? I'm sure they could get the Pakistani's to do the same for the area that's in Pakistan?

Informative lecture..some things i want to add the benefits of CPEC is that it can change fate of Balochs by industrial zone in balochistan(also part of CPEC)....connect afghanistan to china...shorter route for Iran and India...shortest international trade route for people of IoK.... by economic boost terrorism in FATA Pashtoons will be finished. One more point if India support freedom movement of Balochistan, on response china and Pakistan can create instability in india by supporting Khalistan, Mao, Assam etc movements. Balochistan is part of Pakistan since 1947, and elders of all current Baloch freedom movement leaders signed on constitution of Pakistan and enjoy government tenure. Now support of such movements will create problems for their own in future for india and Pakistan. India should work on how to exploit benefits of south china sea by India-China-South China sea route to make India Japan closer.

Only princely state in Baluchistan was Kalat , whose king wanted to go to Pakistan but his son wanted independence who was prevented by army . No mass Graves / pellet guns in Baluchistan unlike indian occupied kashmir plus demographically Baluchistan is having 36% phustun , never wants independence in fact they were these armed phustn tribes occupied the Azad Kashmir for Pakistan.I myself a phustun . More or less, I haven't seen anyone who is willing to talk about peace in this disturbance. I support everyone, every country, even if it's Pakistan or India. CPEC should be constructed for well being of country & economic development. This disturbance is increasing day by day, not decreasing. Both of the countries want to occupy J&K. Fighting for it, armies are deployed for sale of any armed intrusion. So Much Money 💰 is being invested by both the countries. This could have been utilised for other developments of both respective countries. After 1947, भारत was divided into two countries on grounds of religious communities viz. Muslim & Hindu. It was done by British Colonial Government at that time. It was British Colonial Government who started this type of ruling after 1909. Divide and Rule. If भारत could be divided into two countries, Can't it be re-joined again to a Single Country भारत। This will eliminate these all disturbances being it's International or Internal. Economic development of this New Country will be on front. We will be able to prosper our Culture in the World. Take the example of China, they trade with every country in the world, prosper its culture take the example of their Language. If we will keep fighting with each other, other countries will try to take benefits. As we both countries are emerging economies, by re-joining we will be emerging at more pace. I will not say that both countries, in which conditions are right now, can't prosper or emerge. Think about this guys. Don't use bad language & fight with each other.

If economy improves in Pakistan leading to decrease in terrorism and good relationship with India, then it's a win win for both countries. But the question is even if India is ok for it, will Pakistan whose army currently occupied Kashmir of Indian Territory leave from its place, give back India it's territory, coordinate with India for CPEC, create an environment of mutual benefits between India, China & Pakistan? My opinion: It doesn't seem to be. I think India should support Pakistan in only one condition for its good: Pakistan should leave Kashmir from India and get the benefit of cooperation with India for its own development. Unless it happens, there's no way Pakistan would see a brighter economy and growth because India is so strong compared to Pakistan in all aspects that anything would seem threat to India and it's people, India will not take it anymore. US who had been attacked by Japan in WW2 and had very bad fights with it, but is now a very close ally to US. It all depends on the countries' vision and wisdom to calculate the net effects of making enemies. India is a very friendly nation (eg. Ask any leaders of nations in G20, UN) and would develop mutual benefit relationship with all its friend countries if they receive the same. India's relation with Afghanistan, Iran - the neighbors of Pakistan -, Russia, Israel are best examples. China doesn't have any good relationship with any country in the world, including all its neighbours as well except for Pakistan. If Pakistan cooperates with India, then it could definitely get the high opportunity of growth and development in its own country. The only objection India has for a reason to keep bad relation with Pakistan is that Pakistan occupied Indian Territory - Kashmir.
