How does the line go, "Everything is easy, when you know how!" Which isn't always true, but in the case of the door seals, I don't think it took more than 3 hours to completely reassemble the doors with all new seals.

You reminded me I snapped off my sunroof hand-crank last week. Well, just the little silly spinning knob, but I had to buy the entire thing. You made those scrapers and door panels look easy. Door panels give me fits.

They can be a pain for sure! I've scratched brand new paint a number of times getting them installed.

@@Sam_Mebane All those little clips and boots and I lose patience in about an hour. And masonite puts me in a bad mood. We need to come up with a more durable panel backing.

@@jemcnair76 100% Werksberg was offering ABS plastic panels a few years back. Not sure if he's still around making stuff or not. Either way I would prefer a modern plastic push in (to the body) clip that maybe twisted into the panel, masonite or otherwise. Heck, I might even try to come up with something when I have the time.

@@Sam_Mebane The PO of my car put in the rear quarters with tiny self-tappers. I thought that was a great idea for the rear, but I didn't have the guts to try it on the door panels. It may be that I bought cheap panels but the masonite was mangled by the clips. There was really not enough bite area for the clips on most of the holes. And then I had to reglue and restaple the covers, which turned out nice, but the manufacturer just didn't care. So yes, those modern body clips (the press in type you see on everything these days) on a durable backer. And the clips need to float somewhat for alignment.

@@jemcnair76 I know years back the EPA required a change to glues and what not. For a few years TMI had issues getting the door panel material stuck to the panel before they finally went to staples. That made a big difference, but yeah, there isn't much meat at the end of the panel for the clip so they break there regularly.

thanks for showing the process. I just got my window seal kit the other day. I only put the door seals in for now as I plan on painting my car in the spring/summer and will wait until then to do the scrapers and trim. I redid the internals of my doors a month or so ago along with new water barrier, clips and panels. Got the doors back on and found that I put my check-rods in backwards! Stupid mistake... knowing that the chances of popping off the door panels without breaking them is slim, I just removed the check-rod pins and shoved them back into the door to be another day's problem!

I was only 9 years old at that point, and JBugs was still owned by TMI and in Hawthorne, CA. I didn't start working for California Pacific in Oceanside, CA until 1998 when they acquired JBugs.

Im waiting for my JBUGS order to do exactly this on a 68 I'm fixing up for my granddaughters first car. I didn't think about the rivets for the vent window top hinge so darn, I'll just have to place another order! I'm thinking I'll need a carpet kit along with those rivets.
