Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving! I apologize for one section of the narration being drowned by the train but it’s only for that one clip.

On the KCS we were running everybody else’s trains a lot which is why you see KCS units all over the country because the KCS owes the other railroads engine hours.

Have driven a number of times thru the Ouachita River basin from Acorn, AR to Heavener, OK. A friend in Heavener related how he'd experienced a brief panic, driving along there at night, meeting a train, seeing those lights that seem to be in the middle of the road. The way the road winds around paralleling the railroad, I could see how that could happen. Thanks for the video, brings back memories of some beautiful country.

Ouachita is another word I wouldn't have the first idea how to pronounce. So these voiceovers are useful! 😁

I watch the SB 180 MMX through N, Missouri about daily..It seem to slowly but steadily keep getting longer and longer. Although I did see a couple short ones in February. The one I seen today April 6th had 55 container cars doubled up and 15 loaded autoracks.

Average speed of a coal or grain load pulling to Stapp is 12mph. From Page to Rich Mountain is 17mph.

Nice Video. I was down in the same area probably about a week before (judging on the leave changes) for the first time. Great times and great scenery.

Really great video LRP! Nice to see the fall colors and the elevation that you don't see too much of down in Shreveport.

Idk why the KCS crews don’t like running the 70MACe’s. I’ve had a handful of BN/BNSF MAC’s and MACe’s on coal trains; they are my absolute favorite locomotives to run. The MACe’s pull just as well as an ES44, the whisper cabs are quieter, and I’m one of the oddballs that likes the desktop set-up.
@LouisianaRailProductions10 ай бұрын
I’ve heard mostly about how uncomfortable the ride in the cabs are along with several mechanical issues.
