Drinking and making Rice beer is a part of tribal culture particularly Naga's. If there is no rice beers our Naga culture will be incomplete. People should drink rice beer as a part of food habit for health. Sin or not sin,,,, will decide by God only. No man should behave like God.

It’s a good thing to know that the Sumi Morung has restricted the sale of beer and alcohol, setting a great example for others to follow. However, the most important thing is that, as a Christian state, we should reflect our Christ-like identity and set a good example for outsiders through our behavior, the way we conduct ourselves, and the things we sell. The Hornbill Festival can also serve as a wonderful platform to spread the Gospel to tourists and share the love of Christ with them. Just sharing my thoughts! 🫡

We should never forget where we came from, it's our dudy to honor our ancestors practices it could be drinks, attire, custom etc. This festival is all about honouring, respect and showcasing to the world. We should not target to rice beer or so called mutu. Calling out community, association, organisation etc is not good. The practice of Christianity belongs to western world not us we merely accept it and practicing. We nagas are "Animistic " We must not forget that. it's our festival so have fun with honor. And spread the good words to the people with positive perspective.( in terms of our ancestors drinks)

Rice beer is also part of our strong tradition.it is consume during harvesting, victory, wedding etc etc (during our forefathers era) . Its only upto one individual who drinks without limitation. Visiting morung doesn't meant u have to drink rice beer compulsion..

It is not a Naga culture of not drinking rice beer in itself. Instead hypocritically majority of us Nagas will be found drinking IFML everyday. We all know that our ancestors use to drink one bamboo cup/mug of rice beer whole day discussing things unlike drinking two three bottles of IFML. We need to use common sense and not carried away by Christian tag everytime and become blind by others perspective. Even using mobile phones, watching fb, KZbin can even be taken as against christian values because it is not written in the Bible. Sometimes we seem to be carried away too much by narrow views. We all know that none of us Nagas live exactly as what our Christian values teach us but we seem to give preferential treatment or opinion to whatever is beliefs related and write against anything that seem to go against our beliefs. In the end without our Naga identity, culture, customs, motifs etc we are noone.
