These CVT do extremely well. We ride with 125cc and 140cc bikes all the time and there isn't anything they can do we can't. I think a trans would be cool just to do it but I like simplicity.

@@oliverfoulkes personally I think because it's really all about the power to weight on these small bikes, a whole brick of a dirt bike Trans would slow a bike down but I guess with different gearing that can be made up for? I like my minibikes light and dainty so I can throw em around

I put a 212 Predator in a 1980 Yamaha DT 125 Enduro it is awesome as the bike is a 21inch front 18 rear. it has a 49 tooth on the back and a 10 on the comet 30 clutch it will go 55. i have the title. i plan on getting a 12 volt lighting coil for it so i can have a charging system for the lights and signals and take it out on the road. I was very impressed Im 57 and still like to play Great job Red Beard

Great video, love the channel! My son Recently bought a Predator 224, and with the help from watching your videos, we easily removed the governor and switch from inside the case. Next are the valve springs, cam shaft, rocker arms, and connecting rod! Thanks for the knowledge!

Great build for a stout, comfortable and fun trail bike. Stiffer springs, better tires and a little tuning it’ll be ready for a day ride. You’d probably really have blast at a off road park with it on some trail’s.

Maybe add rpm gauge so you can see if you are hitting top rpm or if you need bigger sprocket. Also can help with tuning as well.

I would be adding a serious reinforcement to the foodpeg mounts, they are prone to ripping off with even a 100 pound rider, extremely thin walled frame and that part of the frame is a water trap. I owned a few late 90s to the last 2007 in the past.

Do you really need the fan on it when its being used on a bike? You could free up a considerable amount of power if you lost the fan and flywheel.

I would personally go with a predator 212cc engine from harbor freight, retails for around $150 they have decent out of the box power and are easily upgradeable. Good luck!

When the belts get wet do they slip? I have a coleman and have kept the chain jackshaft because I am concerned that the belt will slip when it gets muddy/wet

If you drive into a huge puddle without the cover on it can get wet and slip but once it's out of the water it's good to go again
