Crabbing New Jersey (Toms River 2023)

Late post. This crabbing trip was sometime in August. It was hot and humid but lots of crabs, most of them were small but we ended up with 33 keepers on this day. We started at the pier and then moved to the end of the boardwalk to get some shade. Sandwiches and coffee for brunch. Enjoy the video🥰🦀

Yes😊. Early morning seems to be always calm and beautiful. By 9:00 am the motorboats will be out and the waters become too wavy.

Thanks for this! When I was a kid I used to crab in Jamaica Bay, Queens NY. We always threw back the “shorts” the crabs less than 5” wide so I was glad to see you guys doing that! 🦀🦀🦀🦀

33 keeper!?! Wow!! That’s great! I didn’t have much luck this weekend. I went to Tuckerton, NJ. A place called South Green Street Park. Very nice place. I caught 3 keepers. Is it too late in the season maybe? I really don’t know when I’ll stop catching them in NJ.

Oh yes, we’ve been to that park a couple of times, it’s a nice place, but just like you, we didn’t catch a lot of crabs there. Now that its colder, they might start hiding or go to warmer waters🦀

Oh, this was filmed last August. A late upload. 14 crabs around this time is pretty good. I just hope the Giants can score more than that tomorrow ha! Ha!

@@supremekarate1 you don’t need a license for crabbing 🦀 but for certain places like Island Heights, (Toms River) you’ll need a crabbing badge for $10 a day or $25 for a season.😊Happy crabbing!🦀😊
