My dad and I went to Island Heights and caught 19 keepers from 6-9pm! We caught lots of small ones and spot croaker fishies too! We saw lots of swimming crabs when it got darker

You had a great day crabbing🦀! Most of the crabbers around Mantoloking caught an average of about 3 crabs only. There were a lot of small ones and puffer fish. Have a nice Sunday🥰!

Nice video. You guys caught some nice ones there. I like that place but never had good luck. I did catch a flounder in a crab trap there a few years ago. I haven't been crabbing in two weeks now. This week for sure. I','m leaning towards your "Plan B."🦀🦀

It has been slow lately, it took us a while to get those 11 crabs🦀. I heard Island Heights is still doing pretty well. Good luck and hope you catch a bunch😊.

Those are some huge crabs!! Not crabbing myself this weekend. I’m with my brother at circle M campground in Lancaster. Next weekend I hope to hit an old spot I used to go to as a kid that is near Brigantine NJ. I’ll make sure to post a video if you guys ever wanted to check it out and add it to your list.

I was wondering, You eat alot of crabs (and who can blame you, they are delicious) Do you ever clean any and freeze them so you can have them all winter?
@damagekids Жыл бұрын
that's what I do,I deep freeze every catch and eat a few per meal whenever I want them.
@thandastones888 Жыл бұрын
😊No, we usually give most of the crabs to our friends, family and neighbors🦀, so by day 2 or 3 we were out of crabs😊. But that is a pretty good idea. We do miss crab dinners when the season is over. Thanks for the tip🥰!

Beautiful crabs today! 🦀🦀🦀 I wanted to comment to let y’all know…. firstly I watch a lot of different crabbers in many different states, your family is in the top 3 of my favorites in our blue crabbing community.🤗 I am assuming that the camera operator is y’all daughter, she is doing a wonderful job shooting and editing your channel’s video content. Today’s video, especially the editing touches, I noticed were a little different…. And I loved it, good move, it was noticed❤️ I was born and raised in south Louisiana and have been crabbing many different way’s throughout my lifetime. Currently I have been going when and where I can and also using drop nets and string. It is nice to also watch other crabbers for comradeship. I only wish I understood your language or that y’all would do translation. Thanks for always entertaining Monica

@@monicafolse5065 Thank you! Thank you so much for your kind words. You just made our day😊! We are still learning this whole video thing. Trying to improve and make it better. Louisiana would be a dream place for crabbing🦀. Maybe someday we’ll get to experience it. Have a blessed day 😊🦀!!!
@donnapeters8426 Жыл бұрын
Yeah. Just rip the top shell off the crabs , rinse all the gunk out well dry them and put in a plastic bag and freeze. Then pull them out and make crab sauce, garlic crabs, or cook them the way you usually do. They are great.

What kind of long net do you use? Hard to find extendable nets that don't break easily.

We bought it from Dick’s Sporting Goods for $ 39.99 plus tax, it’s light, extendable and doesn’t rust. Thanks for watching. 😊

Love your Crabbing videos and am subscribed to your channel. Want to do crabbing with my wife too !! Is it OK to do crabbing at Mantoloking Bridge or Metedeconk ... address of this place please ? Thanks it's really entertaining to watch you guys !! One more question , where you got the wire net rings ?
@thandastones888 Жыл бұрын
Yes, Mantoloking bridge park is open 24 hours and is free, same thing with Windward beach park ( Metedeconk ). Mantoloking park is at 70 Herbert St, Brick NJ 08723 and Windward is at 265 Princeton ave, Brick NJ 08724. The wire net rings you can get from Dick’s Sporting goods for $9.99. You can also get them from local Bait and Tackle shops around Brick NJ. If your wife loves eating crabs then you’ll have a great time crabbing🦀. Enjoy and Good luck😊!!!

Why do u put them in bucket of water first?
@thandastones8884 ай бұрын
@@gamerclownz2783 It calms the crabs 🦀, and avoid pinching each other. It’s also cleans them when they’re muddy or full of sand ( less cleaning at home ) but don’t soak them too long. They’ll use up all the oxygen in the water and die.
@gamerclownz27834 ай бұрын
@@thandastones888 but didn't they just come out of the water? Or is it fresh water
@thandastones8884 ай бұрын
@@gamerclownz2783 No it’s saltwater. Another reason is when it’s too hot and sunny, leaving them in a bucket or bushel dries them up so quickly. Soaking them in water for a moment helps them live longer until you get them home.

@@thandastones888 I grew up crabbing in the Barnegate Bay. My grandfather taught me 45 years ago to line the basket with wet seaweed. This will keep the crabs alive and healthy all day. You can even cover them with some seaweed which keeps them cool and moist. You’re correct though, never keep them submerged in water or they won’t last long at all.
@thandastones8884 ай бұрын
@@midnightflyer7510 Thank you for the great advice🥰! So that’s why we have seen some crabbers do that. We’ll try it if seaweed is available in our next crabbing spot🦀.Have a nice Sunday🙂
