Resist the urge to use clear bottles for beer. Sunlight will "skunk" the beer and may have been part of the problem. Love these brewing videos. You should do one on how to catch wild yeast for brewing.

How To Make Everything well, ethanol IS flammable. It's your conventional alcohol making process, except that you are allowed to have additives that aren't safe for human consumption, you skip steps that add taste, and you add an extra distillation step to get high purity.

The problem with Weed is that it's fat soluble. Meaning that it won't form a solution with the water it is boiled in. You need an oil/fat base to extract the flavour and THC from the weed. In India, that's done by mixing milk or buttermilk into the weed while grinding it. It's called Bhaang. You might want to give that a try, although Bhaang is generally made from the flower and not the leaves.

Because they burn the cheese with alcohol and it is a show. But they use bacardi, so it tastes like Bacardi. But my parents really had to assure them that it was OK. Kids dont like the taste of alcohol and many parents dont want their kids to get used to the taste young. The dish didn't contain any alcohol of course. It was burnt of. And even possibly getting an alcoholic later if you are depressed because the taste of alcohol reminds you of your childhood summers dandelion picking with grandma. And like. What you got with your 'weed beer' is a taste of how beer tasted in the ironage and back. Because they didn't have hops (many places anyway), they used a spectrum of other taste and preservative plants such as nettleseeds, porse, goutweed, rowan and others. These help sour the beer to preserve it and add flavour. The modern beers are almost always made with cereals and hops, ergo this is the taste you know as beer. I imagine the one you made tastes similar to the iron age beers we have made based on archaeological finds from Germany and Denmark, very sour but with a somewhat sweet aftertaste. Back in the days, beer wasn't sweet, and was weak (1-2%), and was mostly a way to get clean water.

@jaydunbar75386 жыл бұрын
Payton Tomm the early sugar content determines the alcohol content, cutting the sugar also increases the chance someone new will end up with vinegar as the yeast will feed on the alcohol. Baker's yeast has a low alcohol tolerance so it dies off very quickly, if I recall correctly it is only survives to around 5%. Where as champagne yeast can survive to 17%, which is why I use it exclusively. I attempt to maximize the alcohol and flavor to make the most of my effort and storage space. Most people drink it over ice or even cut it with water, so it makes a bottle last just a little longer :)

i do a old recipe dandelion wine its awesome ill give the recipe here. only pick the dandelion heads when its very sunny outside otherwise it can be bitter. Culp the the dandelion head between your middle finger and ring finger and pull up and the head will pop right up. if you get a stem or 2 it wont hurt but you want only the dandelion heads you dont need to pick the yellow parts off with this recipe. you can use the whole heads. pick a whole gallon of dandelion and rinse them off in a strainer and start boiling a pot water 1 gallon. when it gets to a rolling boil put the dandelion heads in and let boil for 20 minutes. then strain the dandelions off dont smash the dandelions when straining to much. the water will be green and smell like spinach. put it in a fridge to cool for 20 minutes. the temp should now be about right to pitch your yeast add in 5 pounds of sugar (corn sugar if you dont want that cidery taste from the cain) cut in 4's 2 lemons and 2 oranges, squeeze the juices out into the fermenter and drop the whole fruit in then pitch your yeast. stir all content well and cover stirring once a day. on the 3rd day or 4th fermentation should be done. then the recipe said to bottle the wine (make sure fermentation is done first, if you need to use a hydrometer make sure its sterilized and put the wine back in. your only making a gallon and and its high alcohol content will most likely keep it from getting infected.) let wine age for 6 months (i drank all mine except one bottle right away its very delicious.) then strain the rest into another clean bottle straining with cheese cloth or whatever you like. in 6 months the wine is thicker and much better and strong and sweet and DELICIOUS. ENJOY!

I'm sure the crabgrass would not make a good beer, but the flavors you are describing are from infection (especially the medicinal/burnt rubber smells). The yeast could have been stressed too if you did not have good temp control. You may have had an issue with sanitation somewhere along the way. Also, dextrose (corn sugar) works far better for bottle conditioning. It nearly completely ferments and does not leave an aftertaste.
