Crab grass germinates by temperature only not by time of what ever month it is. And to catch early I always but ferilizer March 15

I think the OP is implying that temperatures in his area are not conducive until the time of year he mentioned. There are several excellent sites online that monitor the ground temps for agriculture. Some will even notify you when the average soil in your area reaches whatever temperature you set. It completely eliminates guesswork if you have an exceptionally warm or cool spring.
