My brother is homeless and on drugs. I took him in told him my extra 3rd bedroom was his the only terms were no using and actively look for a job. Not keep one just look for one. He stayed 2 nights the 3rd day he never came back. It's now been over 1 year since I heard or saw him. He would always come by my job Downtown Miami once every 2 weeks or call me from some strange number and check in. I drive and walk around Downtown Miami looking for him. I call the morgue and check the jail online logs. 2 things I know he's not in jail and he's alive. When I see homeless people I ask them if they would like a meal and I bless them praying that someone is also good to my brother. I cry so much. These streets are not kind

I hope your brother is ok and gets clean soon. I lost a brother in 2012 to an overdose. It’s like watching someone you love drowning and they won’t grab the life raft! You can yell at them and beg them and pray for them. But nothing changes until they decide to grab the raft.

A person's brains has different ways to process and cope with trauma. Maybe this was her way to "cope" by trying to convince herself it was a nice experience and not forcefully raped and causing physical pain. But the reality is... Rape is rape.

There is something so lovely about her. She carries this peaceful, positive energy. She speaks about all her situations, they sound difficult to me, but to her they are just moments in her life that made her who she is. Near the end of this she said, "I should write a book!" She’s jerky…her voice is cracking, and I can just feel the cracks in her entire life as she slowly kills herself. A book would only fund her habit further. I had a crack addicted sister who became sober after her little girl was killed in a car accident along with our mom who was taking her granddaughter to a psychologist that morning to help her deal with her mother’s dysfunction. Indirectly, her little girl was killed because of her lifestyle. She has to deal with that the rest of her life. Anything that would enable this woman will lead to her demise. No book. No way.

I'm going to get blasted for this, but this is one reason parents need to stay together. And if they can't stay together, each parent needs to _not_ bring others into the home. Get out with the girls, get laid all you want when the kids are at Vacation Bible School, go to Vegas for sleazeball extended weekends with your old college peeps. But don't bring anyone else into your home to stay until your kids are gone.
@QuinnieMae

@@kimnixon5357 BAM! I didn't see your comment when I made mine but damn, it's a momma like you that gives me goosebumps. I have chicken skin on my arms and legs after I read your comment _truly_ because you legitimately, _literally_ put your dating desires on the back burner for your kids. Every kid should have a mum like you 🥰💯 I think back to my childhood now that I'm older and whereas I used to think people who talked about "two parent homes" were damn fuddy-duddys. My mom was single and she raised me as well as she could. And it worked out well. Yet I think two parent homes are best, and if we can't keep two parent homes staying single or not bringing strangers into homes where our children should be protected is the next best thing. And while I had a beautiful MOTHER with a heart of absolute gold, if I didn't I'd want one like you. A parent that keeps their child first priority until they get (the hell up) outta the house is a parent that has significantly decreased the risk of harm to their children. You're fantastic, Kim!

@S R First of all which women are you really referring to and whos life are you referring to with your contradictive comment that "every woman believe that their problems stem from a man". It sounds more like a personal issue you have against the women you've had in your life , or crossed paths with and are blaming women as a whole for your personal experiences because no where in Jamie Cornelius comment did she ever mention or imply that ALL MEN are responsible for ALL WOMENS issues. She said it sounds as though that the man "Pedophile" munipulated them all and she's 100% right. He molested Doreen from age 13 until she was 17 and she also said her tormented all the women in that house makes him a sick pedophile. That important fact seemed to go right over your head, then for you even call him a man and make a ignorant comment like that says alot about you as a person.

Mark you really understand when to let the people talk and when to ask questions. Most interviewees ask too many questions and interrupt what the people being interviewed so desperately want to get off their chest. It's truly a skill and the spark that makes these videos so raw and real. Thank you for all the great work you're doing!

This woman is obviously intelligent. She's very articulate, uses a lot of very descriptive words, and as Mark said at the end, she is a great speaker. I think about what her life might've been like if she'd truly had a "safe, secure" childhood rather than her version of the "safe, secure" childhood that she actually had. 3:44

Sweety.... You can't get off.... because of the toxins you're ingesting and the trauma you've been through. Stress is robbing you of your true authentic self. You deserve so much better than this lifestyle. Your inner child is pure and true. She needs you to be strong and ask for help... you so rightfully deserve. Your childhood needs to be processed so you can let go of all this pain and sadness. I admire you. You are stronger than you're giving yourself credit for. Take the resources to pull yourself up.

@lila W - I absolutely LOVE what you chose to write because it is very TRUE. Unprocessed Trauma can lead to many many other physical & mental health disorders.... I understand about that kind of stuff because I suffered a lot throughout my early childhood & into my adult life. It wasn't until I turned 38 in 2019, that all of my personal struggles & traumas became to heavy to carry around anymore and I had a nervous breakdown, including a panic attack that felt like a heart attack! Anyhow, I'm learning a lot about my "Inner Child" and how to re-parent myself. I feel like Doreen certainly has a long way to go, but she deserves inner peace. I admire your comment, it was well written and you made it Positive. 🙂👌🏻💙

@@7777VANITY I truly understand your comment and appreciate your thoughtful reply and honesty. I am so sorry that was your experience. I have had my share of unprocessed trauma as well .... So I understand your reaction to it and also understand what we adult children... need to do, in order to free ourselves from our painful past. I'm so glad you're rising above the generational legacy of a dysfunctional family of origin. It takes a strong soul to break free. Well done! Stay strong. Stay true to yourself. You are not alone. If you haven't found it yet.... An empowering short book for this kind of process is "After The Tears" by Jane Middleton. It really helped validate my own experiences. Cheers to you and yours. 💜
