I was 14, and was put into a foster home. My foster dad had a band that rehearsed in his basement. So one day they were playing 'She's A Dancer'.....first I'd heard it. THEN I heard it on the radio. Blew my mind! This was in 1977, and these guys have been my fav band ever since.

Brings back memories. Was a young lad back in northern Baltimore county in the late 70's early 80's. Loved them as a kid listening to them on DC 101 and 98 rock

FINALLY saw Crack at OPACY about 2007. They DESTROYED the place after the O's game. Front row, I probably lost 20% of the hearing in my right ear, right beside their stage left speaker cabinet.One of the best concerts I've ever seen and I've seen a LOT of concerts. Tightest band I've ever seen!

I thought I didn't like CTS. I remember "From the Greenhouse" from back in 1989, and I thought they were just a Pink Floyd wannabe band. My boss starting playing them at work a couple years ago, and I was HOOKED. I saw them last summer, and they played EVERYTHING!! It was incredible. I only wish I would have given them a chance a long time ago.

I saw them in Rochester Ny in the 70s at the Penny Arcade. The place was 200 over capacity. They totally tore the place up. I had only seen one other band that was that flawless. All I have to say is: When I die I want to go quietly in my sleep like my grandpa did. Not kicking and screaming like the passengers in his car.

I used to be known as " BUS TRIP CHRIS". Many years ago in another life. I helped Childs Play slightly with fans going to New York to help them get signed. I cannot say that I truly had much of an influence in them getting signed but I tried and they put me in their credits as a result. HOPE LANG was a great beautiful lady that helped me with all of that. I truly wish you are doing well and are happy Hope. Thank you for all of you help not just with the buss trips but the way you helped me as well. GOD BLESS you. With me it started with the Ravyns. Moved to Crack the Sky and then to Child's Play. I only became known because nobody 3 rows back could hear the band over me. I have always had a very LOUD voice and I used to be able to sing. In order to get me to shut up the bands put me front and center. Brian Jack did it all the time and so did Rob Fayhey at " The Horse You Came in On" Every Wednesday night. Like I said I used to be able to sing. At 51 today I am not so fortunate. I would like to say thank you to all of the bands that allowed me to sing... Crack the Sky, Never Never, Child's Play, City Fixx, Fuzzy Lipstick, Orange Seed Parade, Wrathchild, Honor Among Thieves led by Mitch Allen the man that NEVER gives up, look him up on you tube... especially with Kara DioGuardi seriously listen to the song "lost" that Faith Hill sang that they wrote together., Brian Jack GOD rest his soul, Nicky Kay , IDZI, and the best drummer I have ever seen in my life John Allen. I thank ALL of these great musicians for giving me much more than my 15 minutes of fame. I loved every minute of what all of you gave me. I am so thankful to have known all of you even if you do not remember me. GOD bless all of you and all of your fans.

Sadly [mainly, b/c I was always playing], I only got to see CTS once, which was Awesome! My good friend & former guitarist introduced me to Carey before the show which was a real pleasure! Especially after I finally got to hear him & CTS perform! Him playing that Rickenbacker is Priceless! I remember he often had to wet his finger - which, I can only guess, is so his fingers could stick to the strings from the speed! ;) Anyways, from then on I became a CTS Addict! ;)

Right now I think Crack the sky is my favorite band. Normally I never say so and so is my favorite band but in this cause they could be! Listening to the first album,Animal notes and safety in numbers on a daily basis.I had Animal notes when it came out but I was a little young to fully appreciate it. Plus I was into Rush at the time. Now I don't listen to Rush at all yet I am listening to Crack the sky!

Great memories, but Painter's Mill was not a town. The late great Painter's Mill Music Fair was in Owings Mills. After it burned down, they bulldozed it along with the Skateland skating center to build a BJ's. On top of that, they moved the local radio (WCBM) station, on the same little avenue (Music Fair Road), shortly after. smh :(
@prosoloist5 жыл бұрын
OH WAIT, pAINTERS MILL was where the BJs is now? I never gave it much thought. I had been to Painters only a few times. Al DiMeola with UK opening was perhaps the 1st time. And then ASIA in 1982... and maybe that's all, just 2x. Been to the BJs more than that as my son was taking KravMaga classes in 2012ish and I would slip out to do some shopping sometimes ;)

In my opinion there are some people that are very blessed, like Faith Hill, HOWEVER, there are other people that are also very blessed but at the same time passed by. Such as Kara DioGuardi, Mitch Allan and David Hodges. People that we never see decide who makes it and who doesn't. Based solely upon which person is more saleable. Who make it and who doesn't hjas nothing to do with who is the best. I think that that reduces us all. Everyone looses because someone decides that even though you are better you wont sell as well. My belief..... promote them all and let the pubic decide.
