Is it aluminum block engine ? I've possibly timing chain slippage and maybe bent rods / valves ? This mechanic said in that case most likely a engine replacement .. That the aluminum engines don't take too much overhaul major work ? Any help will be appreciated . Small 2.0L Ford Focus

I wonder how much power the balance shaft delete gains, and if deleting it can cause damage long term to the rotating assembly mass being off balance, vibrating the crank and bearings
@tbr.performance5 жыл бұрын
J Blades If the rotating assembly is balanced from the factory, which it should be, it won’t cause any harm. It’s meant to make the drive more comfortable for all the people who can’t handle a little bit more vibration.

WoW. More, modern junior ' engineers'. Don't they know/ been taught, laws of thermo dynamics ? I'm not an ' engineer ' but just a hands-on, practical guy ! WHEN you force/shove extremely hot, pressured exhausts, of multiple cylinders, into ONE AREA, the same volume as each one, YOUR GOING TO CREATE A HUGE PROBLEM ! The back pressure, of forcing all this volume of exhaust, into ONE SMALL AREA is a recipe for WHAT YOU GOT; a cracked aluminim/manganese head ! TAKE LESSONS from your grandfather engineers, and HAVE A SINGLE EXHAUST, MANIFOLD FOR EACH CYLINDER. It's n o t rocket s c i e n c e......anyone, with LOGIC could easily ' see ' this problem. GOOD LUCK, MR FORD MAKERS !.......you'll need it.
@petersack50742 жыл бұрын
5:00 Time.....See, TOLD YOU SO ! Those ' engineers ' are NOT engineers......just engine ' makers '. .....and not very good at it, either are they ? Yup, simple child LOGIC, wins the test. Hey Ford, wake up and get us 'old guys ' to design your engines.....you'll be all better off. Another item, of LOGIC. A turbo, on a very poolry designed, engine block/exhaust manifold, is a no - no. The distance, input / exhaust air must travel, is VASTLY DIFFERENT, between cylinder 2, 3 than from 1 and 4. So, 1 and 3 get less air, than 2 +3. Simple logic, right ? Distance travelled, is time dependant. Having a poorly 'engineered ' ? block, with a turbo, and a NORMAL LIQUID COOLING SYSTEM, is another NO NO. There must be a larger radiator, and better water jacket routes, DESIGNED INTO THAT BLOCK. IT SHOULD BE CAST IRON, this metal, has better thermal integrity, than soft aluminum; also better thermodynamics, of heat transfer, expansion. Gas engines, with a turbo, IS A NO NO. Very few, large truck engines, with turbos, have problems, like shown in this video. SMALLER, NEWER IS USUALLY NEVER ' BETTER '. OLD SCHOOL, designs, NEVER HAD TROUBLES LIKE THESE MODERN toy ENGINES, designed, by doofuses, and repaired, mutlitple times by fed-up hi-tech mechanics. One day, soon, somethings' gotta give.....and not $$$ by '' we the people '''.....the consumers, paying doofus engineers, and car companies. Good day, all. good luck, with your modern junk. I will keep my 1996 chrysler intrepid; 304,000 + miles, no oil burner, and good tranny.....bye bye.

When I went to replace the stock turbo coolant ran out of the downpipe, engines out of ford escape's are the same but WAY cheaper! I think just the intake and maybe starter are different.@@kjj8770

Bpv/bov controlled by solenoid or running a line from manifold , which is better?
@tbr.performance5 жыл бұрын
Go off of the solenoid. You want the ecu to open the bov/bpv when it wants to. The boost system for our cars is actually pretty good at what it does. Once you start relying on solely vacuum lines without solenoids to plumb your boost control system you start running into issues because the ecu isn’t able to adjust parameters.
@bones01845 жыл бұрын
VALLEY CREW RACING so under lite throttle my bov will vent and stay open , kind of annoying, I search the web and a few sites said to tap off the manifold will fix this , I’m kind of thinking it may need a tune , I’m using a ots map from the Cobb access port at the moment.

Hey on the cracked cylinder head - was it cracked inside the exhaust leaking coolant?
@tbr.performance5 жыл бұрын
james tomlinson Deep in the exhaust port, there was a crack because of a flaw in the casting most likely. The engine had low mileage
@jamestomlinson18685 жыл бұрын
VALLEY CREW RACING interesting.. do you know if it’s common? I just had a head redone with new gasket new head bolts all torqued properly and I’m still losing coolant. Kinda reaching for ideas
@tbr.performance5 жыл бұрын
james tomlinson I’ve heard that it’s not very common but it does happen. It’s just a matter of the cards you’ve been drawn. The only way I find out was by pressure testing the head.
@turbogodstoys3 жыл бұрын
I dont think manufacturing defect, its a design flaw.. betting they will all crack in the exhaust manifold because its aluminum.. they dont make headers from aluminum for a reason, steal headers crack where differences in thickness occur like header flange (thicker) and tubes (thin metal). Aluminum thick where turbo connects thick will hold heat longer and stay expanded longer causing cracks.. my friends st had coolant coming out exhaust but nothing in engine no overheating, very very little loss coolant. Look up class action lawsuit from ford edge group
