What I did was use GE 100% Silicone Rubber Sealant to totally coat the interior of the tire (both sidewalls and tread). Then I ran a bead of the Silicone along the bead surfaces (not the sidewalls and tread at the same time as bead) The Silicone is not reported as being airtight, but it does the job.
