The doubles thing happened a lot to me back in 1977. You'd get pack after pack of the cards you already had with maybe one or two you didn't have. It was so weird and frustrating back then.

Unless those packs had a sequence then they were both repackaged and PSA messed up.

Unfortunately not surprising. Could be resealed, how could PSA tell? How any Jorden rookie packs are resealed? LOTS. Love the box display, you livin' large with awesomeness anyway, ha!

Two things seem suspicious about those packs: 1. The pack seemed too difficult to open - as if it had been re-sealed. 2. I thought the stickers were supposed to be turned the other way with the gum on the back like the other packs you had opened.

Aw man, that sucks. Was hoping you would score at least some nice centered cards. The first pack was weird, how stuck the pack was. It might be resealed. As far as the content. I Believe it was very common at the time to have fixed order of cards. But it is very bad luck getting those same packs. I Don't like these expensive loose packs. They are so easy to mess with. Even just opening a few packs and finding out the box is wildly off center. What would you do? Keep opening the packs or sell them? It such a gamble buying and opening them at the prices they are. In the long run I think you are better off buying loose cards. Sure less fun but at least you know what you get.

Well Martin… I will be finding out soon I guess… since I’m going to crazily be cracking into a sealed BBCE box Series 1 here very shortly. But I don’t know what I would do if I noticed that it was a “bad box”…. sending the rest of the packs in for grading might be the start move at that point. I’m excited though… 🤞🏻

Ripping vintage wax is usually a money-losing proposition... gotta do it for the fun alone... that 1977 Topps quality control was a bit loose... sorry, man

Ken, you are exactly right… especially with these two packs. One of them is considerably a darker, richer blue. For both being sealed, one must have been kept indoors/AC, vs outdoors/non-AC. I’m not sure, but both are so different.

@@e-dubrippinstuff9820 Yeah, I own thousands of these cards and there is quite a drift from very light to very dark blue... I think that's strictly a printing detail though... poor storage would show up as really nasty looking gum or surface wrinkles on the cards

@@kenrogers1948 good point actually. One of the gum pieces was really bad. Black spots and all. Can I ask… how did you accrue all your cards? Steadily/consistently over time, or are they all from when you were a kid? How generally?
