I bought about 12 of these 1st series blue card packs off of eBay about 25 years ago. I opened one, and still have the others sealed. Don't remember what I paid for them, but I'm sure it wasn't more than $10-$15 apiece. Now they go for $100 and up per pack on eBay. Unreal.

Total card collecting amateur here, so my apologies if this is dumb question, but does PSA charge $50 per card to grade them?
@e-dubrippinstuff9820Ай бұрын
@@thislazylife not a problem…. the general answer to this question is “no”. Per usual, in this world of collectibles… it all depends. If you pay the onetime/yearly $100 membership, the rates reduce significantly. If you do not care about speed of return, the prices reduce as well. The prices can be way higher than $50/ea. but… if you think you’ll be sending in more cards, it would pay off to get the membership. I would generally pay $15/ea for a bulk send in (20ish cards or more). That is with the $100 membership having already been paid. for all of these reasons… This is why you will find cards to be much more expensive if they have been graded. Some people get confused by how a raw card is so cheap, and how graded cards can be so expensive. With these prices that we’ve been talking about, maybe you can understand. hit me up though if you have any other questions! Nothing is too dumb.

Crack and resubmit for all the key cards that they shorted you on grade, PSA is pathetic, never consistent, always different each time u grade.
@mathatter9158Ай бұрын
This video proves that PSA has terrible quality control and the exact same cards can be graded wildly different. A perfect card can be given a 5-6 and that exact same card in obviously worse shape can be given a higher grade. I really think half of the graders don’t care and/or are unqualified.

This is not acceptable by any standard. If PSA had any integrity, they would A) be honest about any damage incurred on their side and compensate the customer, B) include an explanation for grades under 7, even just a standardized list of criteria with ticked boxes. These results make them seem completely unprofessional.
@gomangojoeАй бұрын
NO 10's out of 76 pack fresh cards! BS!! I've lost all faith in PSA. I've been submitting since 2008. My pre-submission grade estimates compared to the actual returned grades used to be in the 95% range. Now I scrutinize my cards for days before I send them in. I send in nothing less then 8's in my estimation. Submitted 9's and 10's now come back 8's and 7's. 8's seem to come back 7's, 6's and EX 5's! I cannot find justification for the lower grades either! I thought I was the only one getting returns like this. Watching you video makes me believe everyone is getting the short end of the grading stick on vintage cards. I guess they are comparing our vintage cards to the modern high tech cards of today. Not very fair. Apples and Oranges! Anyway, I enjoyed your video. Thanks!

I wonder if anybody has sent in the bubble gum itself for grading.
@seanhardner58422 ай бұрын
Most of these are going to be 7s. Doesn’t matter if they are fresh out of packs the print quality back then for “bubblegum cards” just wasn’t beyond NM. You’d be lucky to get a centered one with all the ink lined up right. Keep in mind that Wizard’s of the Coast (the premier in printing TCGs & been doing it for 30 years) recently had a 1of 1 The One Ring card printed for them. It was the ultimate chase card of all time in the biggest set of the year. They added to a random pack & it was perfect. The card was purchase for over a million dollars and came back from grading a 9 mint but not a 10. The card wasn’t perfect even under perfect conditions. Are there any Gem Mint 10 number 1 Luke on the market? I would be curious to know🤔btw R2-D2 was the one we all wanted when I was a kid. I think my friend had one and would trade for anything. & yes we actually traded Cards back in first grade.
