I just have one question. The code for Met, an aminoacid, usually is the start signal for the translation of the mRNA. why isn't the code for met as a start signal needed, when the ribosomes start to translate the poly-u-rna?

It has been 3 years but they used an enzyme called polynucleotide phosphorylase that randomly links together any RNA nucleotides that happen to be available; no template strand is required

Excellent video, but looking further into the subject It is not clear wether it was Nirenberg or Crick who came up with the the codon being 3 bases long, maybe Crick got it by deduction and Nirenberg demostrated it experimentally? Anyone has any info on this?
