The correct pronunciation is “Pe-choot”. Pe as in “pedal” and “cut” begins with a “ch” sound as in “choose”. I woke up to a lot of comments on my TikTok video correcting my pronunciation.

@@yudistiraliem135 agreed, the correct term for that punishment would be caning. Got the honor to witness one myself during my trip, since it's very rare. They're using a small stick that leaves marks, and i believe some people with certain kinks would actually appreciate. And it is nothing as destructive as an actual whip which could flake the skin off and cause bleeding (which in some cases could be deadly from either blood loss or infection). Not sure why they're calling it "whipping", it's not as bad. I'm not going to debate the morality of it, but it's not a whip.

Its maduranese "pecut". They use it for cultural performance, not as weapon. I cover my ear when a street performer use "pecut", since i worried the sound will break my ear drum. Maduranese traditional weapon is a sickle that call "clurit". In past they often do "carok", a duel till death for men using "clurit" to solve tgeir problems.

This whip called "Pecut" it's from Javanese region you wil find somuch at the Javanese cuture store, maybe u need travel destination to Java island (suck as Yogyakarta City, Banyuwangi City, Madiun City). Java region originaly just in Central Java & East Java (Pecut its originaly culture in here), Meanwhile in West Java it is Sundanese region. Good luck.

I used to ride a horse and use that pecut beside me. You must do it correctly. I dont use them for hitting a horse butt. A horseman told me you use them by hitting for the ground creating a sound. So horse with hear a signal time to walk or trot without getting Hurt or abused. 🙂😘 safe for horse and ride yall~ we use them for carriage too~😄 the horse will be happy~
