I'm glad you stuck with Mudvayne after not having the best experiences with "Nothing to Gein" and "Severed". LD.50 is considered to be Mudvayne's best album, so don't be surprised if one by one you listen to every song from that album lol

My favourite lyrics is from Death Blooms. "I just want to run around,Fly kites, wrestle, jump and play. Swim through waves that crash to shore" its just a friendly happy Teletubbies style lyrics in a metal song. I also love how its sung.

while i dont know what Chad was going through at the time of writing way back, if you listen to it as if his partner had a miscarriage or somehow he went through losing a child at birth, you can hear the hatred at whatever god and the following depression that ensued

Mudvayne's early albums were called math metal. They changed time signatures frequently and didn't stick to the base "nu-metal" formula that a lot of new bands in the late 90s/early 00s used. That's a huge reason LD 50 is held in such high regard. It was new for many in the "scene" at the time. And my first experience with Mudvayne was at a festival in which they played earlier in the day than Slipknot who headlined. It was about 3 weeks before LD 50 came out & they were so good live that I bought it when it was released. The festival was Tattoo the Earth on July 30, 2000 in Pontiac, Mi.

I love MuDvAyNe!!! And I love how you associated Cradle, with Cradle of Filth. If you like poetic, Cradle of Filth is the band. But be aware, the wrong song can throw you off C.o.F. just like the first MuDvAyNe song did for you lol. I suggest you start with Nymphetamine Fixed. Don't do the normal version, make sure it is Nymphetamine Fixed version. Hope you are doing well. 🙏😊

@@MusicCatsandCoffee no, not really, mostly a heavy music and somber lyrics I guess is the best way to describe them. They've smoothed out a lot over the years, but still make amazing music. I've recommended Hypnone, it's a good representation, but don't view them as a Halloween vibe. A heavier Type O maybe.. ? Edit,,, I'm terrible at recommending songs, I think there are so many great ones, and I can't decide because they all fit somewhere....
