That album blew me away. Fan ever since that day. Now I'm obsessed with Death And Black metal and ALL of the subgenres prospectively. I turned my kid on to this band when he was 16. He loves all the same music I do to this day. Thanks to Dani and company! We have such sounds to show you...

Gotta say, i'm actually quite proud of how dani managed the older songs on the list, the principle of evil made flesh specifically. Obviously he isn't in his 20's anymore, but that was great! The man has an amazing vocal range that few could even begin to compete with. Still one of my favourite bands, even if the albums after darkly, darkly venus aversa sort of blend together for me. Dusk... and her embrace, cruelty and the beast and v empire are and will likely always be among my favourite albums ever. 2000-2010 was still a great era for them in my opinion as well, although nothing compares to the nineties stuff. Well, aside from bitter suites to succubi and lovecraft and witchhearts, but those are their own perfect pieces. Long story short, i'm extremely glad to see them still going strong, all their shows in finland (which i've seen at least) have always been great!
@charlieboone12986 ай бұрын
50 years old and still going at it with gusto. I loved Cradle unabashedly when I was kid, they were a guilty pleasure in my TRV KVLT dumbass 20's and now I love them unabashed again. Compare this with Anaal Nathrakh's set at this Hellfest. I adore AN, but Dave was never the best at replicating what he can do in the studio on stage, and that set was fucking dire. Similar age range as Dani, but there's no comparison between them.

@@Reymond112386 I'm assuming you got screwed by autocorrect and meant damnation and a day, I personally like the album. Very high up on theatrics and flair, I thoroughly enjoy it. Aside from bitter suites to succubi and lovecraft and witch hearts (as those aren't studio albums specifically) i think it's their best album between 2000-2010. Midian is very close as well, but in my personal ranking damnation goes slightly further.

I saw Cradle of Filth live in late june this summer at Copenhell, before that the last time I saw them live was around 12-13 years ago and yes, Dani's voice has changed. But neither are Bruce Dickinson's, Rob Halford's and James Hetfield's (to name a few), their voices aren't the same either. Escuchar esto el mejor regalo de cumpleaños por parte de mi banda favorita cradle of filth
@KadintheGuitarDude4 күн бұрын
It's absolutely insane that this band has been around for 30 years and they're currently releasing some of the best music they've ever recorded and performing like they're in their prime. So goddamn impressive.

I can't really fathom Black Metal much, but I still watched the whole set, they're good musicians, I can see the appeal for fans of that stuff.

Black metal is either a big hit or a big miss for someone. There is Black metal that really speaks to me and Cradle Of Filth isnt one of them. I find their lead singer goofy and his vocals not great. Usually people think of this when thinking of Black metal which isnt great. But its just me.
@Estorium6 ай бұрын
@PhilosophicalDrummer I would say that the only CoF album that could be considered BM is Principle of Evil. From Dusk onwards they became a ln extreme gothic metal band, and the better for it.
@MindGamingMantis6 ай бұрын
@@EstoriumI'd say Vempire is also Black Metal and has the best song CoF has ever made thrown on it, Queen of Winter Throned.
@MindGamingMantis6 ай бұрын
@@PhilosophicalDrummerListen to the song Queen of Winter Throned with lyrics. If you don't like it, fair enough, but it's why fans like Cradle. Newer fans are something else altogether. But older fans envision songs like that.

On peut parfois se demander qui est le patron dans le métal extrême symphonique. Cradle of Filth remettent rapidement les point sur les i. Que de classiques parfaitement interprétés. Encore merci à ARTE.

Love the original O9A influences in their earliest works, Dani even talked about it briefly in a Q&A on reddit.

How are they influenced by O9A exactly?

For those in the live chat asking who mixed it. They have a talented crew Dani and everyone else sounds the same on recording as they do live.

I never seen a more perfect fit for COF than Zoe. She not only does Keyboards and vocals altogether (Never done in COF) but does it at the highest level and she's absolutely beautiful
@RodHxC6 ай бұрын
She's just as good as Caroline and Ashley (former Cradle keyboardists) but definitely a major upgrade from Anabelle.

Damn I would have loved being at Hellfest… Machine Head, Fear Factory & Cradle of Filth alone would be an amazing gig for me. They are all so good too, they are doing a damn fine job of sticking it right up entropy!
