I just love pretty umbrellas. I used a closed one with spring flowers coming out of it as a front door wreath once. It turned out so cute. I just figured out that I love colorful balloons as well. You picked a good stencil and it turned out so cute.

Foiling with glue through a stencil -- wow, amazing results! I love that this is a technique I can do with existing supplies; even better, I can start with small stencil images and work my way up to doing complete cards with large stencils. Cab't wait to try this -- tfs!

Terrific cards, especially the foil butterflies with white dots added. The raindrops were the best, I was sure you had a stencil for those, lol. I enjoy seeing all of these stencil techniques, this is gonna be the year I use my messy stuff I'm always afraid to use. I liked how you stamped a whole page of sentiments too, I'm starting to stamp the whole sheet when I buy new stamps to put with them in case I forget where they go later and for extras when I'm in a hurry or mess up. I hope to have a reference binder eventually.

Mary, have you ever tried to use the Smart Glue with clear stamps for foiling afterward. Or, does it dry to quickly to get it OFF before it might ruin the clear stamp? If it is water based could we stamp and then throw the stamp into water etc.?? Just wondering 🙃 Thanks

Super cute cards, Mary!! I bought 2 sets of the amazon finger brushes 2 for distress ink and 2 for the oxide. There were 2 color families- light & dark. After I saw the price of the icraft brushes $40 for one set! I was in search for something cheaper and just as good.

What sizea binder do you use for your stencils? It may be a "duh" answer but because the binders aren't cheap and I am, I have been hesitant to go forward. Do you use sleeve protectors? if you have a die cut machine try a stencil trough it with cardstock... not to fine stuff will work for a light imprint more with a rubber sheet.

Me again 😜 After how many years (?) I am having trouble with new stamps sticking in my TH platform and subsequent need to do multiple stamp passes to get clean, clear lines. Differs from stamp mfgrs and even same mnfr stamp to stamp. What is your most effective way to prep new stamps please?

Hi Cheri, if your stamps aren't sticking well to the platform, clean both the platform and the stamp with an alcohol wipe; that will cause it to be clingy again. For new stamps on the image side, try an eraser over the image or even just your finger. That helps a lot to get a crisp image. Other options are to use an embossing ink as well, that seems to help.

OOPS sorry Mary. Problem is newest stamps are TOO sticky..Initial hand rubs to clean off manufacturing sticky often doesn’t work and after 3-4 stamps they are now STILL pulling up the cardstock and making an image less than crisp with high quality Amalgam black ink pad.that is reminded well. ???

They are one of the items I dont mind spending my money on because of the quality and versatility but maybe you can use a coupon in the Michaels store.

The left over ink on, for example, the beautiful umbrellas : you can also put a blanc page behind again and, with a cloth, smere over the Stencil, most of the time you get a second card that is exactly the same as the first (sorry, i never like the messy ink smering 🤔😉)
