Art is NOT naturally political. This is like the difference between designers that are artists and design just for marketing and prostituting people, ideas and products. Many people commenting on the politics of the speech, and I get it, but I think the core of it is simply the negativity. Personally, I had no qualms with how excited he was for his work with Berny or on other political endeavors. Great. I was happy for him. He has a level of passion that shows in his designs. And for that, he has my utmost respect, seriously. However, when you ostracize half your audience by attacking them needlessly ad hominem from the start, and pepper more throughout sneeringly, they naturally become defensive, as anyone would. I think we can all agree it simply wasn't a tactful or wise approach. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I LOVE Draplin. Love his heart and his personality. He'll always be my favorite designer. But for someone who's so pro-hard work, pro-diy, pro-blue collar, "pick yourself up by your bootstraps" attitude, he sure wants the government to do a lot for him... I'd love to go to one of his talks, but if he keeps virtue signaling, and spouting about politics he knows nothing about, I'll save my money. I get it. He does work for his favorite politicians.
