CRAFT WITH ME - MAKING AN EPHEMERA BOX - with

Hi guys, Today I am making a box that will hold a lot of Ephemera to send in Happymail. Using 2 sheets of 12/12 double sided paper from @49andmarket55 . It will envolve a little bit of measuring but I still feel like you can all make it!

Love these. Have seen similarly done, but like your way better. I find on the thicker fancy paper if I flip the paper and score both sides it doesn't crack.

For thicker paper, I usually spray a fine mist of water on both sides before scoring to prevent cracking.

I've got that ribbon! 😁 I got mine in The Works in England, but it was about 3 years ago now! I love it, cos it's butterflies and blue....and yeah, the writing all looks Greek to me too! 😂 But I know you meant it literally, as in you thought it was actually Greek writing. It looks a bit Russian to me...but what do I know! 🤪 I've just ordered 60 new craft goodies! Yep 60! 😲 I won some money, which was excellent timing... actually every day of the week is excellent timing for me! It's not as if this was a bad patch financially and the rest of the time I'm doing fine! I'm always struggling, but this was like EXTRA struggling so that's what I mean by excellent timing! First of all, I have payment meters for gas and electric, and my gas meter (especially) has morphed into an angry starving Gremlin! I used to push my payment card in the little slot to put the credit on, but now it just roars at me, opens it's mouth wide enough for a tonsillectomy, and practically rips my arm off along with the card! It's getting so expensive to put the heating on, it would probably be cheaper to set light to bank notes and keep warm from the flames! 🙄 Speaking of Russia, when's someone gonna put Putin out of his misery with a bullet between the eyes? Silly old coot probably wanted to go out with a bang and be remembered in history before he dies! Well he's achieved that! History will remember him as an arsehole! The quicker someone sends him out with a bang the better! Maybe then gas prices and food etc can return to normal!!! ⚰️ So yeah, cost of living is making me thinking about the value of dying! 🤣 As well as that, I've had the "Midas touch" touch lately in life...sort of, but in reverse! As in, everything I've touched recently has keeled over and popped it's clogs! Bloody hell, that's a lot of death talk...? 🤔 I assure you I'm feeling quite perky and not morbidly pessimistic! But me & gadgets / appliances have NOT been getting along the last few months... My printer is being a dick, my computer has stopped working, my cooker is falling to pieces, my washing machine was refusing to spin, and last week I dropped my mobile phone on it's arse! 😳 And I was behind on bills, so I took my last twenty quid and did what any idiot would do.... . . . . . . I gambled it! . . . . . . And I won! 😁😁😁 Not ridiculous amounts, I'm not cruising off to the Caribbean anytime soon, but I did ring a taxi and cruised my arse into town for a little spendy-poo! I also paid my overdue phone bill and paid next month's too while I was at it! Paid my TV licence, which pisses me off to even have to, but better that, than bailiffs kicking my door in. I had delivery men come early this morning to plumb in my new washing machine and cart the old one off to the scrapyard. Bought a new mobile phone. Filled my freezer and cupboards up for a month or more. Bought an air fryer to save money on cooking. Put £100 on each off the gas and electric meters, so that should keep me warm for at least an hour or two....😂 The printer isn't broken, I actually only got it last year, but it works via an app and pisses me off! What a stupid bloody idea that was that some twat came up with! I miss my old printer...it had buttons on to just press what I wanted it to do. Why do people have to complicate things? 😠 So I don't technically need a new printer, I need the patience of a saint and some new swear words to help me cope with this one! My cooker still works, and to be fair would be a lot better if it was well scrubbed out. Which I did do recently actually, and then put pasta and rice dishes in the sparkling oven, and both bubbled and spilt all over the inside again! I was not effing happy I can tell you! Those spills are now like charcoal that I've been putting off tackling...bloody thing! My computer was working well, then wasn't. I didn't do anything, it just wouldn't turn on. I'm thinking it may, hopefully just be snapped wires in the power cable and I thought it's more sensible to try that first before getting someone to fix it. So I've ordered a new cable to try that out first. Hopefully that's all it is, if not that's the only thing I still need to fix or replace now. So feeling very pleased with myself once I'd done all that, I had around £150 left, I decided to treat myself to some new crafting goodies! I've ordered five colours of StazOn ink pads and two distress oxides. A new scoreboard and cutting mat from HunkyDory because my old ScorPal one looked like it had been in a pub fight....and lost! The cutting mat barely had any visible numbers or lines left on it, so I definitely needed a new one. I did look at Tim Holtz cling stamps because I do love them, but I decided against them merely for the bloody price of them! I instead ordered lots of cheaper stamp sets, I think twelve sets in total, but two of them are by Sam Poole? Have you heard of her...? No, neither had I 😂😂😂 But anyway they were less than half the price of Timmy's ludicrously expensive sets, and have very similar vintage looking dates, scripts, numbers and signatures etc so I'm looking forward to those! I also ordered lots of new dies: page tabs, tickets, labels, doilies, borders and foliage shapes etc. I ordered a couple of vintagey books to cut up and a set of vintage postcards. Some brads, jump rings, doileys, charms, and a couple of bags of Tim Holtz ephemera snippets. And then finished off with about ten different washi tapes and washi stickers.....including the fashion ladies stickers that you've got! In fact every single item that I've ordered is inspired by your kind of crafting style, because I love it so much! All the tickets, vintagey, receipts, invoices, stamps, labels and numbers kinds of styles that you like to do! Everything I ordered I first asked myself: "Would Margreth like this book or those stickers or these stamps???" and if they weren't your sort of thing they got deleted from my basket! 😁 I thought about your thought process and your projects and your vintage treasure hunts the whole time I was shopping, and bought only "Margreth Approved" goodies! Because I love what you make, your style of crafting, and just bloody well love you too! 🤗 Another beautiful project today! The paper pack was pretty, you said it reminded you of your collages. Not quite my love! That paper would LOVE to be as nice as you collages! You turn scraps of paper into pure art when you collage, and you adding a few bits and bobs at the end to decorate the organiser, made all the difference. Made it much more "YOU". Right I'm off to go load up my new washing machine! I've got a backlog of washing that needs doing and I've got plenty of electric, and intend to use it! 😜 Take care lovely lady! 😘😘😘 xxxxx

I myself hold the precious supplies for years and years, because we don't have any access to the international market and because of sanctions I can't buy anything from amazon or ebay or any other suppliers like that, I have too many difficulties to afford any single thing for my work. So I always hesitate to use them in my projects, but last week I was cleaning my studio and suddenly I found out that I actually have stored all of the essentials of my artwork just because I may not be able to have them again! Earlier today I watched your video Day 77 of the100 days playlist where you made an accordion ephemera holder from a vintage book. I also had a delivery of a 49 & Market, beautiful, Eucalyptus paper pad. My 1st one. And now this video...a spooky coincidence?!! I love the way you integrated the gusset into your pockets, much easier I think. I do think the 49 & Market 'paper' is very thick, more card than paper really. I will enjoy making this project. Another fantastic project! One of my favorite aspects of your teaching style is that you explain the “why” for your designs and particular measurements. This is so helpful in understanding the construction, and also great if we want to make it in a different size. 49 and Market is one of my favorite brands to collect! Another commenter suggested scoring on both sides and that is great. Another way is to score and fold in a way that turns the valley (the score line) into a mountain. Does that make sense? OMG! 49 and Market paper is gorgeous! They just released Rouge! It is GORGEOUS! I had to buy everything! I love the ephemera pouch - I can hardly wait to make it! As far as the paper/cardstock cracking, I usually score medium/thick cardstock at least 3 times then turn it over and score 3 more times. I don't usually have cracking so I hope it works for you! I have to confess, I buy 49 and Market but have never used it! Can we say hoard?! lol

This is a beautiful project. I make something similar on a smaller scale but make the accordion sides and panels separately. I plan how many pockets I want and make two continuous accordions for the sides to fit. Then space out and attach the panels for the pockets. Sorry, I know that sounds very confusing. 🤭

You also could make a mark on the inside of the lunch how deep you want the notch to be, that would give you consistent punches as well.. This is so Flat out awesome!! See how you are...now I spent 30 dollars on two paper packs from Timmy Holtz. I have only one other thing from this man and that's some brads. Lol I so excited to get the papers on Monday. Now to watch this much anticipated video. Well I watched and I want one so much but i want it a bit larger. I can figure out the gussets added to the rest and the cover....but I'm jot sure of measurements for folds. I think you must be genius
