Thank you for sharing a very simple and easy technique. I have tried other methods but I was not as successful as I was with your presented technique. I also went a step further and put some glossy Mod Podge on top once the glue had dried. It came out great with a nice shine and the paper remained smooth. This is my method going forward! Happy crafting!

LOVE love this napkin design..I do love to use a cricut & iron my napkin cards- ive done it both ways & i like the finish- because the napkin & paper fuse together - the result is like it was made that way..& the napkin rarely rips..TY for a sharing a great tutorial.

Me too! BIG fan of cricut iron on- i love the effect - it bonds/ fuses the paper with the napkin & yields a professional texture!

So THAT'S how to get the napkin placed right the first time! (No second chance with a napkin.) This opens up a new realm for me. I didn't do well with napkins, and gave it up. I wasn't going to add more plastic to the planet, and I won't use spray adhesive. This works. Thanks for showing us!

I've done the same technique using Elmer's spray adhesive (blue can with a bright orange cap) but the glue stick is a great alternative. Thanks for the tip! The glitter accent with WOS is the perfect touch since the design of the napkin speaks for itself. When I do my spray adhesive technique I score my card and cover the entire outside (front and back) with the napkin that is cut larger than the cardstock. Then I fold my card and trim it down to the desired size using my paper trimmer.

That looks a professionally made, store-bought card! The addition of the little dab of sparkle on the butterfly and flowers really makes the pop. My great grandmother used to make home-made cards out of old greeting cards and calendars that people had given her. Sometimes, folks would give her old cards (or ones they messed up, with smeared ink, etc.) as a way to recycle. She cut out images and words and make new cards with them. She would have LOVED this!
@shar25336 жыл бұрын

TFS. You did a good job of NOT making us watch you separate the napkin layers. You started, and then you jumped to when you were done. Suggest you look for other ways to do that. Like when you put the glue stick on the card stock. Do a couple of strokes, then jump to the end and say "There, that's done", and move ahead. Same with cutting the napkin edges off after it's glued in place. In those cases, we see what you're doing, we don't need to watch the whole thing. Not making us watch repetitive steps speeds up the video, keeps our interest, and is a good way to get subscribers in my opinion. Thanks again for sharing.

So classy and understated, not at all distracting; some of the wild colors and glitter make it difficult to concentrate on what I'm wanting to learn. I haven't tried this technique yet, but I loved my cards I made with the plastic wrap method. I am wondering if starting with a larger backer piece and then cutting it down to size might be a little easier. These are so fun to make and embellish. I love my "Stella", but also stickles, glossy accents, and pretty much anything I can get my hands on! I have even used feathers! Thank you for this timely reminder.

Hi looks great thanks for sharing. I have a question, can you put glue on part of card to get lined up or is that a bad idea because it could tear or wrinkle? My hands shake and I have issue getting completely lined up first try often. Or does anyone have suggestions for me..... any help is greatly appreciated!
@Craftie5 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid you would run the risk of tearing and wrinkling like that. With that thin one-layer napkin, it's pretty much a once shot deal. That's why I like to put the cardstock onto the nakin versus putting the napkin onto the cardstock. You can see your pattern through the backside and try to get it lined up first this way. I hope it works out for you. This technique has been what works best for me. Happy crafting friend. :-)
