Learn how to make a perfectly fitted Top Hat at home from old cardboard boxes! This tutorial will teach you how to make a perfectly fitted hat in a range of styles - from a wide-brim hat to a tall Top Hat - so you can pick whichever one suits your style best. All you need is an old cardboard box and some determination!
How to measure your top hat size - 0:10
How to centre your hat template - 0:40
How to make a hat brim #1 - 1:23 (from the centre)
How to make a hat brim #2 - 1:41 (aligned with a head shape)
Making a hat crown - 2:20
Making a top of the hat - 4:31
Rim for the flat brim - 5:37
wide brim hat sample - 5:44
Making a curved Brim - 5:48
Adjusting size of the hat - 8:33
Finishing the curved hat edge - 8:51

Is this make from a regular cardboard box material. The base material that you cut the over shape ( stripe looking ) is this cardboard with out top layer? Ty

Hi, yes I use regular one wall cardboard boxes. In this case I didn't strip paper layer from the cardboard to create a texture for the hat band, I only made half slits and it worked nicely.

To make this hat I used hot glue only. It cools down fast but at the same time and you can shape flexible parts while it hot.
