Season IMHO is written, acted,, and filmed much better. Sauron flows very well and shows his pursuit of domination. Nuemenor's decline is accelerating nicely. Galadril is evolving well.

Second season is epic and more characters with multifaceted layers which I find it fun to watch. Seeing Sauron as master of manipulation is exquisite. It’s more interesting seeing Sauron in physical form influenced main characters compares to the Lord of the rings just a watchful eye on the tower.

It was better than the first season but it still need some improvement. All the spotlight was on the Elves/Dwarves and the other storylines suffered. Númenor, Rhûn and the South needed more development. Sauron and Celebrimbor were the highlights.

I love these seasons of Lord of the rings: the rings of power. As far as I'm concerned it fits in trilogies of Peter Jackson's masterpiece. I think they followed as close as they could to what JRR Tolkien and I understand his grandson was the consultant.

I am impressed at some of the knowledge that the cast have of the lore (kudos to Charlie Vickers for bringing up Beren), but you can tell that none of them is a real Silmarillion fan because otherwise 60% of them would have said “Maedhros” and 35% “Finrod”.

No, not really. This is very close to canon and to Tolkien’s ideas. The seduction of power, the possibility of redemption, friendship and love… it’s all there. And of course, Sauron as readers of LOTR never had a chance to see him: as somebody who was almost on the brink of repentance, a being of beauty and terror.

Not only that, but I’ve found that many of these same complainers actually have very little ACTUAL knowledge of Tolkien’s work.
