Yes!!! Again, Mr. Zebra, ur teaching style is the shit!!! I've suffered thru so many pedantic knuckleheads tutorials to learn music theory. This is so straightforward-it's a gift. 👊🏼

dude...in 20 minutes you helped make more progress with this tool than I have in months. Your learning style is great...Thanks! If I can offer a couple suggestions? You use shortcuts once in a while. If there is any chance you could splash the shortcut (if you forget to say it) that would rock. you can do this easy even if you've already bounced the video up to YT. One thing you might consider is that If you use a technique you described in detail in a previous tutorial, mentioning it would help people just plugging in go back and find something that you use. The new logo across the bottom of the screen blocks some of your settings. Since noobs like me might try to duplicate your setup when following along, they can't see a few things. Maybe tighten up the font and move it to the top of the screen in a blank area. Lastly, maybe get in the habit of putting your web and FB links in each description box. Since you have such a solid learning progression, you might also add a "this video builds on..... xxx" in video y. Give em a reason to keep cliclkn!
@Craftmaster39 жыл бұрын
Todd MacDonald Thanks for the suggestions. All great ones by the way. All the stuff thats being covered up by the website is just the transport bar so don't sweat it. The only thing that you would duplicate if you are following along would be the bpm. I was waiting for someone to call me out about the shortcuts lol...I will be more diligent in the future with with using call outs one them. Your dead right about the descriptions though. Thanks for the constructive feedback.

What a novel way to thing! This is awesome great tip. Thanks for sharing. Awesome way to get writers block eliminated. Just a very simple way to look at things. It seems we all try to complicate things when we work (me included). We need more simple things let this. Keep going your on the right track. Pun intended. I am going to give this link to my writing partner, so he can learn as well. You are right you can use this in any genre. I am going to use it in Latin music. Thanks again

I'm confused on how to put the percussion elements (snare, kick, etc) to chord progressions, are they supposed to be set to the key's root note? is there a strict rule? It's also hard for me to make transitions into new sections (like the chorus) with the chords.
@Craftmaster39 жыл бұрын
+TCC if you are using an 808 you want to use it like you would use a bass patch in a synth. Other percussive elements may need to be tuned to really sit nice in the track. A basic rule I mostly follow for kicks, snares, and high hats is no more than three semi tones up or down. When you think of it like that you only have 6 choices then, so you just pick the one that sounds the best. Gotta grow confident and use that ear sometimes. Tuning drums like that is how I got confident.

After you bounce a MIDI file to audio how do you go back in and edit it and put it back with the changes
@YAE3659 жыл бұрын
Snap Ghost If you click on your MIDI selection and go to Track, you can transform it to an audio file. When you want to make changes to the audio file just click it, go to Track and transform it back to MIDI to make your changes.

@markmcintyre32437 жыл бұрын
T-Hop2017 i dont use studio one so i dont know what is called, but he has a setting on that only lets him place notes in the scale hes working in. if he moves up 1 it goes to the next note in the scale. if you skip a note in the scale each time you add a new note you will end up with a perfect triad chord

Well, this is a great tutorial for making music, without beeing in in music-theory. But pls dont call it like it is. u show very great tricks for music-production (i will hopeyfully remember), but the theory behind this is deep and anyone who is theaching and learning it would get upset if he would her someone call this theory ;-) (ps: i like ur style ;-) )
@Craftmaster39 жыл бұрын
Theory doesn't have to be hard or complex.
@NMPshadow9 жыл бұрын
+Craftmaster Productions pls, ofc it doesnt have to, but theory of music, about harmony and so on is complex and you don't speak about the theory of music, only about how to use it, without knowing it in detail. This is great, because It takes years to master it and with ur knowledge (i would expect its based on experience) it is easy to produce great pieces just in a few days of practice, but its still not the theory behind it, only the theory people see/hear.
@Craftmaster39 жыл бұрын
you're right I absolutely skip past the "theory of music" and go straight to how to use it
