My mom and I have always used socks. Once the toes or heels go, we cut them into loops, about an inch wide. Make excellent thick potholders. I have recently started dying some to add color.

I positively love working with & teaching children. Particularly those who truly WANT to learn! Ahlony is that way. She is a sponge when it comes to anything "crafts"! So happy to know you'll be able to share with your grandchildren! Thank you for sharing!!

Great job! Those are very nice loops and they made a very nice potholder. I had been looking for quality loops! Thanks for mentioning them!

THANK YOU!! Yes! They really are! We only reviewed 4 different purchases in the video; but we've made WAY more purchases then that. UNTIL, we discovered these. They come in MANY colors from Harrisville Designs. We will ONLY buy our loops from them from now on. Thanks for commenting!

don't throw the short and/or weak loops away - you "double" the short ones to make one long enough to stretch across or use them as a "hanging" loop and the weak ones can be doubled to make an extra thick one for setting cast iron pots on - good video
