This always tripped me up. Finally an instructor who has broken it down and now I get it. Thank you so much.

I am soooooo happy the video helped you, Marian! I agree! When I first started it was all so easy until I came to the turn. I would always over-think it! Hoping you'll stay in touch!

I am a beginner weaver and looked at several videos to learn how to do the actual weaving. Yours was the only one that made sense ("right over left and under"). Now I can use my new loom Thank you!

Thank you so much for this fabulous video! Especially the close ups. I have three rag rug looms that I purchesed at a fibre festival 5 years ago. I could never figure out the turns and was ready to give them away until I discovered your videos. Am now happily weaving away!

I agree that twine weaving is the easiest method of rug making. Goes very fast too. You did a great job of explaining and showed clearly how to execute the turn.

Why on the top left side is their two red instead of red blue .
@RagstoRugsbyLora2 жыл бұрын
Hello, Elaine! In my hurry, I didn't pull it in tight against the rod. I always make sure the second warp/weft is inline as it tends to pull toward the center of your rug. The same for the second to last on the RIGHT side of your rug! Something to be attentive to! Another thing I failed to suggest! When I am "making the turn", I will twist a couple times the "around the warp" fabric strip! A little trick I use to make those edges cleaner when taking off the frame! And of course! Remember to never end a row with a connection! Trim back the strip if necessary! Ending with a connection will weaken the rug & increase the likelihood of it falling apart down the road!

Can I ask how far apart your nails are? Also, I’ve watched another KZbin video where she weaved under two warps. You weave under one. What is the difference?
@RagstoRugsbyLora2 жыл бұрын
So happy you reached out Debby! We recommend 1" apart , 1/2" from the screw. You can get instructions to build your own frames at our website. (link below!) They are REALLY good, with excellent full color photos, professionally printed & includes a shopping list for the hardware you'll need. (Just give it to an associate at your hardware store & they can fix you up in no time! (Saves time AND $$) Ohhh!! We also sell the steel rods! There is no difference to one or two warps. More a matter of preference! When I teach young children, I will generally use 2 warps. It's easier for little hands, then to go every other one. Here's that link! >> ragstorugs-bylora.com/SHOP.php?category=18
