I keep practicing making bread and it never turns out like the one from the bakery....one day I'll get it right! I love the look of that mushroom, it turned out great for cheap dollar store clay. We use it to hold earrings and jewelry

We are so happy your new place is next to that beautiful graveyard! Every time you include clips of it, it just seems like such a beautiful space for you. And the cooking & art clips are fantastic too! Winterlust is going on my TBR for sure!!

the best part is that they labelled all the trees so I'm trying to learn to tell all the tree types apart. Thanks Shannon! Just trying to cozy up! I hope you enjoy it if you read it

Lovely opening with Jasmine, crafting and baking- yum! So much about nature in this video, I love it. Not sure if you knew Andreea, but Wanderland was shortlisted for the 2020 Wainwright prize which is a U.K. prize specifically awarded for nature writing.

Aww, you remembered my sister's name!! Thank you! I did see that shortlist sticker on it, I am aware of the award but I think one of its downfalls is the super-favouring of British landscape only. I wish it was more general nature. I always feel left out when it's just about Britain. Although when I was in England I was just as enchanted by the English landscape ...so much love

I know what you mean, I’m British but have lived in America for sixteen years so I still have some connection but not entirely. Do you know if there are any Global or North American nature writing prizes?

Hi Andrea🙂 I have heard you say that by some experience you lived...it makes you feel two hundred years old. Perhaps as for all of us 😉 when we experience some of the time working intensely, according to Jean Shenoda Bolen, we don't actually realise how long that is and is called Kairos (Greek)and not the linear time called Kronos (Greek) that is the rational time given by convention of clocks and chronometers.🤫

I prefer working intensely to being bored, but I feel like I wasn't the one working hard in all this time. Oh neat! I haven't heard of that greek time concept. Thank you for that!

Winterlust seems to be the right book for me, since I find it hard to appreciate late autumn and winter. I get cold easily, the days are so short and usually it's dark outside, so I feel like these things affect me more than they should. When I was younger, I used to build snowmen and go sledding, but in the past three years there just wasn't enough snow for these activities.

I am very sad with how little snow we got this year. I keep asking "where's my winter?" I think winter does capture amazing childhood memories for so many people. I hope you enjoy it if you do end up reading it!

I read A Wizard of Earthsea many years ago, but you make the ones I haven't read sound so interesting . . . there must be a chance of the library having Wanderland, Naming Nature or Winterlust . . . I'm going to check right now! Yes, Naming Nature and Winterlust are both available. And Wanderland is ready to take off the shelf at The Bookmark on Spring Garden Road. However, I'm not going to bake some oatbread or start crafting up any mushrooms!

Winterlust..I feel like it's written FOR Canadians. Ha...aww...if you don't bake bread then what's even the point...I keep trying to get it looking like the one in the bakery and it never comes out right (this was my third attempt) and it still wasn't as good as the one from the store. One day I'll get it right.
