I have that same lawn mower and love it. I have also done many videos on it as far as repairs and stuff over the years. Someone will most likely give it a good home.

What engine does it have. I have access to my old man's tractor and I want to resto it, butni think at this point it needs a flat out engine swap

I think the engine was an 18 horsepower twin briggs.

I'm about to trade a push mower motor for one of these. My buddies landlord has one sitting in the weeds and he's gonna get it for me and he gets a new motor I have.

There's a "c" clip inside on each half. You can also weld a washer or weld the clip with a couple of tacks. If your in a jam, you could tighty twist a small wire and twist the bow away from where it would rub.

@@rogercallaghan5657 i'd almost have to see pics of them. Best bet is take a look at both of them, see how they hook up and then if theyre the same, it can be hooked up.

What is screwed up is you'rec asking $400 for a lawn tractor. I have purchased working cars/trucks for $600. I have three lawn tractors. Bought an MTD Yard Machine for $150, One similar to yours for $300 with the trailer and a Chraftsman LT1000 for free though it needed allot of work. Stuff like a carb, inner tubes for three of the tires, blades. So it was $200 after parts. Have to mow allot of lawns so it's nice to have backups. Little things like sharpening blades I'd rather put off. Belts go and such. Kids like to race the mowers so it's nice to have them always running. New neighbor spent $500 on a used riding mower. Older fellow who mows his yard twice a week... My favorite of the three is the MTD. Though the LT1000 has a much tighter turning radius. The Grey comes in second. Though I do love and prefer the LT1000's shift system. Not a big fan of the deck... I can beat the crap out of the MTD and it doesn't burn up belts of bend blades. I have to be very careful with the LT1000. Belts burn up easy, blades can easily hit the ground and get bent, even when at 5-6 and the deck is barely lowered. $400-500 for a mower. I imagine I could sell all three of my mowers for $500 each. There is demand. I for one would buy a car for that, fix it and sell it for $1,000-$1,500 and simply wait... Always people out there who have issues with their tractors and don't want to put in the time or expense to fix, just like with cars/trucks. If it operates as good as you say you can get $500 for it. Hopefully you got it cheap or had it for years and want something else. Eventually you can get what you ask. New riding mowers are $1k+ My sister got a riding mower for $300 from an old lady.... Woulda ran for years but she didn't winterize it or use stable, left it outside... Lasted two years. Now she's looking to offload it for $50. I'd take it but the deck is only like 30". I'd fix it for $75 but being family she wants shit done for free...
