You've been a big help for my GT6000 and got a plow for it about 6 years ago! Thanks buddy! Sonny (CT)

Get the wheel weights, possibly fill tires with winter windshield washer fluid too. These tips take strain off your axels when you just throw more weight at it, you'll thank me later. And for snow, get tire chains, makes worlds of a difference. I have a 1994 GT6000 I bought new. I've added ag tires and a sleeve hitch and a 1500 lb winch and made several implements for it over the years. I use it mainly to plow and maintain my garden and for snow removal, pretty much everything except cutting grass. The deck fell apart beyond repair around 2018, but I have a zero turn for grass cutting.

I as well have a gt 6000 with a 46" craftsman plow with wheel weights and chains and the mower pushes like a tank

Did that come with the correct mounting brackets for the GT6000? And also what modifications needed to be done for the install?

Lower your tire pressure that would help as well. Just a few lbs of pressure in the tires

I had the same poor success with the craftsman. Tough to beat your basic snowthrower!

I have a smaller tractor, Huskee 3800 12 1/2 HP with the 46" blade, use chains but figured my weight would be enough LOL I have been using it for almost 11 years now, just have to realize it is not a bulldozer, and not try to take a full blade every time, especially when the snow is heavy, and usually plow in high gear and make a run at it, works just fine but yes when the snow is to heavy and deep, out comes the snow blower, to get it started, I park the tractor in the garage, so just open the door and start plowing. My neighbor has a Kubota diesel powered 4x4 tractor, now that is a monster and has no problem moving snow, of course it cost more than my car LOL.

Thanks, Bruce. This year I've got a new plan. I've got a Wheel Horse 520H with calcium-filled tires and chains. I'm about to install the snow plow. If we get some snow this year, I'm eager to try it out.

more weight more speed angle the plow more and steer into it to counteract the pushplback from the snow but i don't blame ya the heavy wet stuff is a chore compared to lightweight dry powder somehow even snowblowers work better when colder the hot 30s and 40s farenheight is when ya gotta pull all the tricks out of the hat or wait till it's colder just beware of slush solidifing to ice 👀

I have a 1995 Craftsman GT6000 with the plow that goes to that year and it is a plowing machine. I have 55lb wheel weights on each rear tire(standard tread pattern) with chains. I usually plow in second gear. I wondered how the tractor would do with ag tires, i have been thinking about replacing my standard tires with ag's. I really enjoyed both videos on your install this in use videos. I didn't know they had conversion kits for the different plow mount set ups. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks for the note, Jeff. We had 4 or 5 inches of snow last weekend, and my GT6000 with snow blade did pretty well. I don't have weights or chains; just the Ag tires. For where I live, and the minimal snow we get, I think I can get away without the wheel weights and chains, but I am pretty sure weights and chains would do a better job than the Ag tires alone. By the way, the mounting brackets I was missing last year finally came in, and I was able to get them installed on the tractor/snowblade set up. I made a video about that, and I'll shoot you the link in a separate note. Sometimes notes with hyperlinks get relegated to the "held for review" folders, so check there if you don't see it. Thanks!

@@Buckwsr cool! I just got back in the house from plowing snow and ice. I am in western Pennsylvania north of Pittsburgh and we are finally at the tail end of that winter storm that is going north north east. It did a decent job but i need more weight on the back and some on the front.
@jtbassgambler25943 жыл бұрын
You need a knobby tires in rear and put some weights on rear and you're fine to go

Do you still have your craftsman gt 6000 with snow plow ?

Cool do you have a mower deck for the craftsman gt 6000 and is the mower deck put on the craftsman gt 6000 yet or is the plow still on the craftsman gt 6000 for just plowing?
@Buckwsr2 жыл бұрын
@@nathanbrunner6026 I also have a 44 inch mowing deck, and I was just using that yesterday. Plus I have a 3-basket grass catcher on the back of the tractor. It works pretty good. My mowing deck is starting to rust out, but it still works. I think I only used the snow plow one time this past winter. We just didn't get much snow this year.

chains and wheel weights.. mine works great.. AG tires
@buckdangt33432 жыл бұрын
you need about 250lbs combination of wheel and rear weight, you’ll be good to plow.
